Hey all. Trying to find a laptop around 550$ with a GPU that would be able to handle Guild Wars 2 on MED settings.

I ve been looking at the GTX260m but people are telling me that card is outdated. I was saddened by that news.

I have been going by this list..

Computer Games on Laptop Graphic Cards - Notebookcheck.net Tech

on GPUs able to run SWTOR. however, I do not think it is too reliable.

So basically im asking if anyone knows some GPUs that are able to handle 2011 games on MED settings

You are talking about running GW2 at "medium" settings, but at what resolution? 1280x720, 1366x768, 1600x900, 1920x1080?

Also, I think it's a mistake to rely on the "Low, Med, High, Ultra" settings options.

Most advanced settings options have little or no impact on framerate and you can usually max them.

It depends on the game, but in many cases, Anti Aliasing and Shadow Detail are the only settings that have high framerate cost.

Anything prior to 4xx series cards from nVidia and 5xxx cards from ATI do not support DX11, and should probably be avoided, unless you want to risk not being able to play future titles at all, on any settings, because they are simply not supported.
