Some of you may want to check out the game "Men of War" by 1C games (Russian).
It has elements of Company of Heroes and Brothers in Arms. It is a WWII strategy game in that you control your army of men in an isometric view, but you can assign positions to each man or group of men. You can also take individual control of any man, and each man and machine have a finite inventory for stuff they can pick up and carry (like an RPG inventory). Enemy bodies can be inspected for ammunition or other munitions too after you have killed them.
The environment is pretty much fully destructible. You can repair your tanks and other mechanical vehicles and devices.
It is quite difficult but fun to master. There is a demo available, but I bought the full game, and while I have just been screwing around with it, it looks quite promising. So far it has received decent reviews both professional and users. So maybe try to give it a shot.
It also has no DRM that I can tell. I installed it, removed the DVD and it played fine. You need a code for online play.
