    hey so just got the game.. but didnt think this wasgona be such a resource hog.. im using a 8600M GT and im running this on medium at 800*600,at around 18-23 fps average.. anything above 800*600 is unplayable..
    thats pretty bad considering i just finished playing assassins creed on medium-high!!!..

    any one else played this?..
    overall its a real fun game!!.. the explotions are sooo cool!!

    Turn off shadows and AA; those features are very taxing.

    Gay developers! Its like, what are you thinking when you made this game, heres a smart marketing strategy: lets only make this game playable on high end rigs and make as many people pist off as possible.

    People who anything lower than a 8700m gt or an extremely overclocked 8600m gt ddr 3 should stay away from this game.

    That just means it's on a terrible engine... not surprised, it looked like a terrible game.

    For some reason the game constantly uses 95-100% of my CPU, this probably explains the low performance.

    AA is compleatly off!!.. turning off the shadows barely makes a difference(like 1-2 fps)... its quite a bad engine :mad:

    I played a friend's who had trouble running it on his desktop (E8500, ATI 2900 XT), It ran badly on my G1S as well.

    The CPU usage is at 95-100% even during the opening screens, before loading any gameplay, so I doubt it's a GPU issue.

    Yea not only is the performance bad. But the game itself is apparently bad as well, it got torn apart by media and player reviews all around.

    I used to have Gamefly and I rented the first Mercenaries and really enjoyed it. I was semi looking forward to this one, too bad it sucks...

    well i just hope GTA 4 and farcry 2 will be better optimized to play on medium setting... otherwise its time to throw the 8600Mgt out:-(

    Actually I think it means its poorly ported. The pc users always gets shafted with it come to multiplatform games. I was looking forward to this game but since most of ya can't even run it on your high end rig compare to mine ima probably buy it on the ps2.

    Even HD4870 users are having trouble running game. Hope the optimize it soon...I was really looking foward to playing it on PC. Otherwise I'll just get the PS2 version.

    I have it for 360 cause i knew my pc was not going to be able to handle it but that's crazty for the 8600m gt gddr3. i dont want to think about my 8600m gs ddr2

    i was tempted to get this game, as i liked the first but seeing that you have to be connected to the internet to play the single player annoyes me, so i decided that im not getting it

    Mercenaries 2 PC is one of the worst optimised games I've seen, keep water effects on and AA off "AA doesn't seem to do anything" because you won't notice much difference other than a huge performance hit.

    Even on the consoles, it's buggy crap.
