MGS GZ releases december 18th and tPhantom pain is also confirmed for pc sometime next year. Both will offer 60fps gameplay and 4k support.
Recently info was revealed and the specs are as follows:
Minimum Specifications for Ground Zeros:
OS: Windows Vista 64-Bit or later
Processor: Core i5 SandyBridge 4Core (4 Thread) 2.7GHz or above
Memory: 4 GB RAM or above
Graphics: GeForce GTX 650 or above
DirectX: Version 11 or above
Recommended Specifications:
OS: Windows Vista 64-Bit or later
Processor: Core i5 SandyBridge 4Core (4 Thread) 2.7GHz or above
Memory: 8 GB RAM or above
Graphics: GeForce GTX 760 or above
DirectX: Version 11 or above
The question remains how will notebook users be affected by such specs? I played the last pc metalgear spinoff MGS Rising and it played well on my old hp pavillion dual core 1gb ati5650. While I hated the game style for that one, it ran pretty smooth I guess since it was older gen.
What do you all think about these new specs pals ?

Seems reasonable for a current-gen console port.
In laptop terms, GPU min spec is GT 750M and recommended is GTX 880M. CPU is i7-2630QM.sasuke256 likes this. -
I think it's slightly high considering what the PS4 is doing (1080/60 high), but no inflated vRAM requirements and a recommended spec being a 760 is far better than we've seen for AAA titles in the last couple years. I'm about 90% glad XD.
At least it DOES look significantly better on PC; nVidia put out some screenshots and there's a lot better texture detail at range and a ton more solid (not barely ambient) lighting all over. -
oh man, don't really feel like rebuying this on pc since i have it on PS4

The real excitement is the simple fact that metal gear is returning to the pc in its biggest version ever and the features list will also be used to describe the upcoming Phantom pain also scheduled for a pc release later on next year after this release. Its also great to know that this pc version will have specific upgrades that console players will not have. Here is the official list of pc exclusive options I didn't mention before in detail:
60 FPS frame rate
Additional deferred lights per scene
Additional shadows per scene
Higher-resolution render targets
Higher-resolution shadows
Increased detail over distances
NVIDIA SLI Multi-GPU support
Options to adjust seven graphics features (Effects, Lighting, Screen Filtering, Shadows, Texture Filtering, Textures)
Resolution support up to and including 3840x2160 (4K)
Screen Space Reflections
These new features were detailed by nvidia and the game will be out 18th of this December.TomJGX likes this. -
i try not to get hyped up over this because it is from a japanese developer and japanese devs don't really know how to port games to PC because the market just isn't there for PC gaming in Japan. while it is a big jump in the right direction i don't expect the same level as western devs.

This looks good and my systems seems to be enough to run it so that's good for me.. Now for it to come out^^^

I'm not going to say im hyped up because at my age over 40 with a wife and kids games dont get me to that level especially this so called nextgen of gaming that has been a bit of a letdown really but there are a handful of games I am eager to see and mgs on the pc again is one of them. I wish more Japanese studios would port over more games but its good to see big aaa japan games like mgs and final fantasy at least make an effort to release pc ports because frankly I have no intention of buying a ps4 or x1 and even my kids are happy with nintendo and pc so its nice to know houses like mine can enjoy great games.
I noticed you have a ps4 since you have that i dont see a need for you to get the pc version but since I refuse to buy those awful money grab systems I want to see all my favs make it to pc so my kids and I can enjoy them. -
there's a difference between being negative and being cautious. I am cautious of this release but MGR:R on PC did give me hope for Jap devs to port to PC...or if they get a western dev team to do the porting is fine with me so long as they're in the loop.

You have every darn right to be cautious and I would be a hypocrite to criticize you for being that way because im very similar and I keep my expectations lower than most just so I'm not let down lol. I actually agreed with ya and like I said its a shame more JP devs are not doing more for pc. I also want to add that I also agree with d2Ultima while i'm at it because I also think the specs are a bit high and I did not expect a quad core requirement tbh. It looks like my 5yr old dual core hp with 1gbvram wont be playing this one.
edit :
I plan on upgrading in the near future I think next year im going to pull the trigger on one of the newer laptops out there because this game and a handful of other games that I want happen to be very demanding. -
I am sure the 880m would run perfectly fine 1080p with 60FPS.
However, going with 900p and SMAA would yield better visuals imo. -
P.S I don't mean it but really, suggesting to run a game on 900p with the 880M? -
I hope GZ will be like 10 dollars or LESS.
-
However, when I changed to 900p with SMAA, it actually looked smoother. -

The game is out and I have nothing but respect for what the development team did for this game pals. Even my 5yr old laptop dual core 64bit with a mere 5650 1gb ati card and factory hp drivers runs this beauty nicely. I will be pre ording phantom pain when its available. Japan gets a bad rep for lack of pc support but this game makes ubi soft and ea look like noobs. Excellently optimized is what I say and I wish more companies do it properly like this so phantom pain here I come steam pre order !

now that I have MGSV:GZ on pc and running nicely, I now have one less reason to keep my PS4....once GTAV comes out and if it runs smoothly then i am so selling my PS4.

Successor to Dark Souls II is going to be PS4 exclusive, FF15 looks like it's PS4/XO only as well. I wouldn't ditch the PS4. It doesn't even cost that much.

but if i get paid work that pays better than what i am getting now in the mean time then i'll keep it -

Theghost is on to something GTA witcher and other multiplats are going to reign supreme on pc. Don't get me wrong I was close to buying the ps4 TLOU and GTA bundle for 399 but was out of stock when I tried to get one. I owned all major consoles that sprung up in my youth from atari all the way to ps3, 360 and wii because all the consoles have those exclusives I want. Nintendo and the mario/zelda, xbox and the halo/forza and sony with Uncharted/TLOU those games will tempt anyone but everything else will rule on pc. I might wait for lower prices on the new consoles and get the games I want to play only but there is no need to rush it.
Oh yea back on topic MGS GZ, I'm going to take my sweet time with this badboy. First thing to do will be to crank up the difficulty to max settings. I got this on steam sale and I intend to get every bit of my 13 bucks worth. They say its a short game but I intend to stretch this one out before phantom pain. I will 100% this and choose non lethal options and unlock all the secrets. I guarantee I wont beat this in a day with how I play to perfection. -
complete the main mission unlocks side missions. there's one where you have to kill 2 army guys but you get an achievement for extracting them alive
