We are quite literally paying 50% more than the North Americans. No, VAT is not 50%! The standard RRP for PC games is £40 in the UK (The Witcher 3 is already pushing its luck at £50 RRP though). £40 just so happens to equal US$60 in the current exchange rates (and £ to $ conversion rates has hovered around the same ballpark for a good few years now). Heck, even Euro Europe is paying €70, which is $75 - still a ripoff compared to the US, but less than $90 - and VAT rates are pretty similar across most of Western Europe, including the UK. Why does UK pay far more?
I am disgusted at the blatant greed that game publishers are showing to non-American markets. Whether you are in Australia, Euro Europe or the UK, you are guaranteed to be getting far worse value for your money than North America does (especially the US). Heck, even Nintendo force UK customers to pay £40 for 3DS games - the same amount as AAA PC games on Steam - in the US, they only cost a mere $40!
I can't see how the UK market can sustain this level of price gouging. They say that DLC and buggy launches will cause the AAA industry to crash but I think regional pricing and digital oceans is a far bigger threat to non-NA markets.
One last thing: even with retailer discounts (i.e. GMG's awesome 20% off vouchers) we will still be forking out £48/$72 due to this insane RRP. In contrast, American customers will enjoy $45 after GMG discount. Unbelievable!
If you also hail from the UK (or other price-gouged nation), what's your opinion on this?

Yup massive rip offs... That's why I get my games from all key shop nowadays... You get region free steam keys.. Pre-order bundle is currently available from 1 site (I wouldn't get it from there because I want the key instantly but more sites will be available soon)... 38 euros isn't bad..

WOW!
That is very much a rip off, it might take a while but if you want a physical copy can't you import from the US to save some cash? -
No, sadly not. PC only has digital version. There will be no retail physical copy for PC. Digital is all we will get. Source:

Not sure about that grey market keys website. Non-official Steam key resellers can be risky - there was that whole saga about the stolen Far Cry 4 keys recently in the news.
Regional pricing needs to die (except for genuinely low income countries where a lower price is fair in my opinion). It should literally just be the US price + VAT - end of story. Not this 50% gouging for no legitimate reason. The value of the pound sterling has not changed much vs the dollar in years. There is nothing to justify that price. No added content, no added value.
Really disappointed in Konami.

Cool, well I'll have to keep it in mind then for future purchases
But in any case, we shouldn't have to resort to such desperate measures to get a fair price.
With the prevalence of Google how can these companies continue to think they can get away with this BS as if the customers wouldn't notice the massive discrepancy in regional pricing? It's not like the dark ages, before the days of the internet, where no one really knew what was happening in other countries and the markets behaved as completely isolated bubbles. We can see how much cheaper these games are in the USA and it infuriates me. Digital oceans should have dried up long ago! -
VAT is the problem and the "Europe Tax" doesn't help.. All hail Capitalism at the end of the day if I must add
