Metro 2033 (Steam) 2 Game Giveaway

In the spirit of Halloween, I have *TWO* Metro 2033 games through Steam to give away. In case you missed the Steam $5 deal, here's your chance to get it, for free no less!

These games are STEAM GIFTABLE COPIES. So you will NEED Steam to activate and install the game.

To make it fair for anyone reading this in the next 24 hours, there will be a random drawing tomorrow evening to pick the winners, some time after 11:00pm ET 10/13/2011. No more entries will be taken after 11pm ET 10/13/2011, sorry.

Simple to play. Here's the rules:



(1) Just post a comment that you're interested in the game along with your favorite sci-fi and/or horror movie, and what you plan to dress up as for Halloween (not dressing up does not disqualify you, but we will scowl at you). One entry per user.

(2) User must have been registered at NBR as a user before October 2011. I do this to prevent spam entries and reward users for being part of the NBR community.

(3) Winners must claim their prize within 24 hours, and activate the game on Steam within 48 hours after end of contest. Otherwise the game goes back out for dibs.

(4) You are of legal age to purchase/receive such games listed, and have your parents permission if required.

(5) At the end of the contest, user names will be stored in a spreadsheet and randomized, then the winning name will be pulled from that random list using numbers from random.org.

(6) NO REP! Thank you, I appreciate it, but not necessary.

Already have metro, but once again good deeds coming from HT!

Also it would probably be wise to make sure that you can actually run the game before you toss in your entry... even with my 5870 it's pretty brutal on the system.

 

Good point, but it can scale down well. I tried it with my AMD A8 IGP and it actually plays 25-35 fps at 720p with low detail.

But definitely something to think about, and the new AMD A8 Llano GPU's are decently powerful compared with Intel's. But my dedicated 6750m plays it just fine.

I'm interested! =) I love all zombie genre movies, but if I had to choose it would be Dawn of the Dead. Given that, you can probably guess what I'm dressing up as for Halloween .

My favorite scifi movie is Alien which is also a horror movie.
I'd love to dress as an alien but don't have that costume. So I'm going the corny route and do a zombie again.

 

I'm interested, favorite sci-fi is definitely The Matrix. And I haven't give much thought for halloween yet, been working on college apps. I am not sure yet, might have to go with the Charlie Brown ghost.

By the way, Thanks for all of this giveaway stuff HT (+rep). I did not enter on the last one because I thought other contestants could get more fun out of it than me.

 

Funny game, played on my overclocked 5870m at high, dx9 and 900p getting 45-60fps.

My favorite Horror movie is 28 Days Later

For Halloween, I'm dressing up as a Spanish Plague Doctor (Think Assassin's Creed II Doctors if you are not familiar with the 'formal' title haha)

Thanks for the giveway HT. Probably can't run this so not entering, but I still want to give a shout out to 2001: A Space Odyssey!

 

I was planning on waiting until A) I have a computer that can run it (probably next year) and B) it goes on sale again after said computer purchase, but I can't help but join in the giveaway anyway.

Favorite horror flick would probably be The Shining, though Event Horizon probably scared me the most (bonus points for sci-fi/horror, and to be fair I think I was 12 when it came out). For Halloween I'll probably go as a giant bearded white guy. Sure, I wear that costume on the other 364 days of the year, but it never ceases to draw stares, giggles, and gasps, so I don't see why I should change it

 

Envy 14 should be able to handle it ok at 720p low detail.

Iron Man , Final Destination - plan to dress up as for Halloween - Myself.

 

Alright I'm down. I'd love it if I get to get this game from this. My favorite sci-fi movie is a tie between Blade Runner (final cut) and 2001 - A Space Odyssey, and my favorite horror movie is Event Horizon (a very underrated space horror movie). My Halloween dress-up will probably be an obscure film character in typical suit, still yet undecided.

Fav Movie: Predator

I am dressing up as an OC (original concept) character. An unknown member of the Akatsuki from Naruto.

I am from the Hidden Mist village thus my combat is sword focused. So I'll have my Akatsuki robe on, a hidden mist headband, my katana, and what ever else I decide to go with to complete the costume.

 

I'm interested! My favorite horror movie is the original Fright Night. Watched it everyday when I was young. As for Halloween, don't know about that yet. I'm in a part of the world where Halloween is not exactly celebrated.

 

Oh Wow another giveaway! And one epic game to boot! My favorite sci-fi movie would be Star Wars! Love the movie series and addons (books etc). My favorite horror movie would be Thir13en Ghosts, not because it's scary but because of the story, loved it! Costume for halloween, weell in this backwater state that I live in, theres no costume parties so I don't have one. ~_~

 

My favorite would be aliens, as far as Halloween goes, in Australia we don't really do it, so I would have to say I'm not going to dress up

My favorite scifi movie has to be the Star Wars Series! The Empire Strikes Back is my favorite out of all of them. A horror movie was a movie I watched a while ago called The Fourth Kind. It was about people in a certain town were disappearing, and they saw real live aliens! It also had real footage of aliens (or at least that's what it said in the beginning of the movie!).

I'm not sure on a costume yet, but a few friends of mine said I should be Captain America or Kratos (God of War video game), because of my arm size, but I'm nowhere near them!
