I bought it on steam and each hour or so it crashes to desktop, i get nor error msg just a windows msg saying it stopped to respond. I use the newest nvidia drivers... 260.89 i think they r called.

I also have trouble at chapter 4 lol, chapter 4 and the crashing really turned me off for this game. Its so hard not getting spotted when there are 100 soliders around u :(

i had this, although i'm using amd.
it asked me to run on safe mode (the game not windows) and it worked, changed the settings back and resolution up and it still works.

I would reload from a previous save, and stock up on ammo.

As for the tank, it's been a while since I played, but I don't believe you kill the tank. If it's on the other side of the rails across a pit, and you are standing in front of a large door with someone, and the monsters are coming at you, I believe that tank is on your side.

Its actually much later in the game at a stealth level VS nazis and reds. I will however try to restart the level...

Ah, I remember that level. Like I said, it's been a while, but I don't remember having to fight a tank. I think you have to hide from one when it passes though.

If you get desperate, you can always use a trainer to pass that part, and then continue on. Or try lowering the difficulty.

Metro is very much about conserving ammo. Not like Resident Evil conservation, but still you should be cognizant of how you are using it. I never purchased any weapons or stuff in the towns, so I was able to just convert my military grade ammo in for the cheap stuff (you get a pretty decent exchange rate 1 military grade = 5-6 bullets).
