    Whatta great game.

Shame it's not a Redux, but I'll take what's offered.

Great game, I wish they other ones would get free promos as well. This game has held up incredibly well in my opinion.

It is a definitely a great game. Offering it free seems generous on the surface, but the only time ever I see that is on the must-have games I have owned for years, or games that I simply don't care about even if they are free, LOL. Seems I'm never lucky enough to get one for free that I want and don't already have. Maybe that is part of their thought process in offering it for free... meaning that most people that want it already have it, so they aren't really going to lose any money by giving it away for free during a 24-hour window.

Maybe @Papusan would like it for benching. It has a good benchmark.

980M SLI still cannot consistently hit 120FPS on this game.

Yup, definitely. It's among the greatest hardware-taxing games of all time, like the Crysis franchise. Both are among my all-time favorites of my favorites.

I was all excited this morning to see a 25% off voucher on Green Man that I could use for COD Black Ops 4, then discovered it has no campaign mode. I thought I wanted it (I love COD franchise) but with no campaign I no longer care. Major bummer.

It can do it in Metro 2033 Redux. Advanced PhysX and Advanced DoF in the original 2033 are extremely unoptimized, as is the game in general. For context, Redux in DX11 High ran better for me than the original in DX9 High when I played them a few years ago.

1st COD that I am passing on too. I don't play multi-player which means I have no interest in battle royale either. I also refuse to support a game that has taken the campaign away as that's the only way to send a message. So COD has lost my money this year and hopefully sales will suffer enough that there will be a campaign in their next release. If not, there are plenty of other FPS campaigns out there to explore.

Exactly. I made the mistake of buying Overwatch and was ticked for the same reason. But, I got it for like $10 so it was no great loss. I never buy any game on purpose that has no campaign, because I do not enjoy online multiplayer games. I enjoy the anti-social aspect of gaming and the last thing I want to do is interact with other people while playing. I play to get away from other people, LOL.

Lol. So funny but that's exactly what I tell people too. I play games to escape from people and life. The last thing I want to do is have people ruin my gaming experience. They ruin enough as it is.

Does your solitary approach exclude playing in co - op too? 'Cause it's like sex: you can do it alone, but definitely more exciting in pair.

For the most part yes. CO-OP is reserved for when my Nephews come down every other weekend. And since my gaming preference seems to bother you, you will be happy to know that I even bought a Switch for us all to play together. Which by the way...they have no interest in playing at all. (800 bucks for nothing) So, Co-op is on the Xbox-one and the limited games they have that support it.

But, other than that, strictly solitary as you said. Some things may be more exciting in pairs but when you do them alone you don't have to worry about what other people want.

Not exactly a PG-13 topic for a tech forum, but also not a good analogy. When you have relationships with people that you value, you have to care about what they want. If you do not, then you are not a very good friend, spouse, parent, boss, co-worker, lover, or whatever. Gaming doesn't all into that bucket, especially when you appreciate it specifically for it's anti-social values. You can make it a social event if you want to, but I don't want to. Not only do I not worry what others want when I am gaming, I simply don't care... which is precisely why I am doing it; because I don't need to care at that given point in time. It's me time and nothing else matters. Coincidentally, that is also why I have so little time for gaming. There are not many opportunities to isolate and not have to focus on caring for those around me, so it is valuable.
