Intel® Core 2 Duo Processor T9300 2.5GHz
3GB RAM
250GB 7200rpm SATA Hard Drive
256MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GT
High Resolution, glossy widescreen 15.4 inch LED LCD (1440x900) & 2.0 M
these are teh specs I might get but if I can't I will only change the processor to a T8300 2.4GHz. I'm also getting Counter Strike: Source soon and just wondering if my fps will drop below 70 if I do change the processor.
-
i guess not. the difference between the 2 Processors can only be seen by a microscope.
-
You can just take the T8100 if you are tight on budget.....
And no, CSS is very old game, why are people obsessed (like for wow) that not having the best computer of 2008 will make their experiance suck? -
I wonder why people lately have been obsessed with 70-100FPS. Like it matters.
-
anything above 40FPS will be undetected for the eye in most games some need 50.. All those high frames are just a waste.
-
Brainer, you have been saying what I've been saying all along... but the CS kids come in a freak out "I NEED 100FPZ TO REACH UBERZZ SKILZZ!"
-
Well they have to Make them self Comfortable with "Lower than 70 FPS" Because unfortunatly, not all devs are like Valve if you understand my point
-
Valve + Half Life Engine = Incredible.
-
yeah. right on spot. i like the scalable Engines, some Engines tend to make the game look beautiful on max, but plain trash on low, i still enjoy HL2 on my Old Geforce 4 with some eyecandy
-
Yes sir. Playing on my 8400m GT, little OC, run both CS:S and HL:2 at 1440x900, all high, with 50+ FPS, and to me, it's engine can hold with today's games. It's beautiful, no doubt.

All he's asking is whether or not he's going to see a noticeable difference in performance between the T9300 and the T8300 in games . . . and the answer to that is no, I agree. The T8300 is the best value out of the entire Penryn lineup (3rd processor down from the top).

sorry for hijacking.

Say what you want about not being able to detect more than 40fps, but I can assure you if your FPS drops from 80 to 40 and goes back up to 60 and back down to 40 you will notice. If I'm competing in an online game I want my min FPS to be 50-60 so moving the mouse a certain way produces the same results every time.
In a single player game or one that doesn't rely on twitch mouse movements, it's not a big deal.
Also, you won't notice any difference in almost anything except the numbers a benchmark reports between the T8300 and the T9500. -
i see the difference clearly between 40 and 60....i need 60 all the time...having higher than 60 is good because when vsync is on...u will be sure not to dip below 60 and lose that perfect smoothness in the game. If you get exactly 60fps u can be sure u will go below like during a fight or explosion...thus losing the "flow" lol....if u get 70 fps+.....slap on vsync and you will never see it leave 60
Might change processor on DELL XPS M1530
