I recently stopped playing Minecraft in OS X and moved to Win7 with my ASUS N43

I have 64 bit OS and Java updates installed, graphics driver and windows 7 updates also installed

Now the problem is that I crash almost every time, unlike in OS X which runs very smooth with Optifine.

Is there a way I can force the minecraft to run 64b java or allocate more than 4GB of memory to the minecraft JAR?

minecraft out of memory « Damn Those Problems

I've done this for a short while ago and was able to force Minecraft to use up to 6GB of RAM, though you can have whatever values you want (up to the maximum amount of free RAM you have).

Double check that your mods/plugins don't conflict.

You did have the Xmx part set to double of what the Xms part is, correct? For example, I have 6144 and 3072 to launch Minecraft using 6GB of RAM.
