In the catalyst control center (using 11.5c with CAD 3 app profiles) there's an option for mimpap detail and its set to high quality (all the way to the right). Should I move it around? By default, catalyst ai was on "standard" and it was really slowing down my SC2 performance. All my other games run really well, but I'm trying to figure out how to get SC2 to run smoothly as possible with high detail. I have it on high, but I turned shadows down. With vsync and reduce mouse lag, with a lot of buildings or a lot of action my FPS goes into the low 40's. If I turn "reduce mouse lag" off, I lose that nice responsivness when I push my mouse to the edge of the screen, but it increases my fps, for the most part. If I didn't have to use vsync, it'd be great for my FPS but the tearing is annoying. Should I enable triple buffering in the ati control center? What should I do with mipmap detail? Kittens?!

Low 40's when there's a lot happening in your screen doesn't sound that bad to me, especially when we are talking about an rts game. So i'd probably say leave it the way it is.

Its fine without reduce mouse lag. I wish there was a way to make it so i didn't have to turn on vsync!! Why do I get tearing?

Tearing is caused by your frame rate exceeding your display's refresh rate.
