***? What happened? It was on track for same as the consoles today (Nov 11) but now it's delayed. Anyone know the deal?
-
the PC version? i think the news that it'll come out in Jan 09 has been out for a while now...
-
Oh, guess I missed it ... sorry.
-
This game looks like it might stink. I hope there is a demo because it seems like a try before you buy title.
The most recent gameplay videos were a bit underwhelming. -
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
it doesnt look that great, whats the game about? from what i have seen you are some girl running across tops of building and fighting a couple of people
-
lol looking at all the hyped up titles that failed hardcore(legendary cough), i could see this being one of em.
-
It's not that bad, I plan on buying it sometime, maybe used. There are demos out on the consoles but I haven't heard of any demos for the pc yet.
-
The Demo on the 360 is frikkin AMAZING!!!! the tutorial at the beginning is so-so, but once your in the actual mission, its unbelievable. This is one game I am definitely buying (and that's saying a lot. The last game I bought was Warhead)
-
The demo on the 360 was actually quite sweet, I almost felt like I was running around. I think its going to be more of a console game that PC.
-
From what it sounds like, I get an Assassins Creed feeling
-
hmmm... maybe I will dust off the 360 and download this demo.
-
Is does kinda feel like Assassins Creed in first person, the motion blur makes things very fun to watch and the controls are easy to use. Great fast pace too
-
-
You should probably stay away from that one unless you have a controller anyways.
-
I just watched the review on gametrailers and it looks quite sweet.... did they delay it to add a stronger DRM system?
-
As far as I know, the game is all about keeping the momentum while running and jumping and disarming enemies.
You can also complete the game without firing a single shot. Which is kinda sweet. Can't wait for this one! -

yeah the 09 release of mirrors edge is not news
-
Does anyone know if the Demo is available for Silver memberships on LIVE? If it is, that'll give me a reason to hook up my 360 back again. It's been in the closet for months.
-
The game is a little twist on the overflowing genre of FPS. Instead, in this game you will be forced to discard guns a lot of the time in order to move around freely. Personally, for me, it's the free running and parkour that look totally awesome.
-
Completed the game on PS3 and now waiting for the DLC.
It was a great game, kinda short (finished it in ~8 hours) only 9 chapters long. (+prologue) -
Are there any other modes of play available?
-
Well, there is Time Attack mode, then you can search for "Messenger bags" to unlock some extras.
The good thing is that there are online leaderboards for time attacks, so you can see where the ghost-runner goes and where are the best shortcuts and such.
By the way it'll be a triology. + there is a 2D version of Mirror Edge in development, it's currently in beta. -
-
this game is amazing!, played 2 hours of it on my friend's 360, what a rush!, this game will be underrated because the combat and shooting mechanics are average at best but that's not the point of the game!.....those expecting an FPS game will be disappointed but for open-minded people it's a treat......
-
Everything I've heard online from people who picked up the full version say it's awesome.

Looks like us PC gamers get a lovely PhysX visual upgrade for the PC version:

I played a bit of Mirror's Edge on PS3 at a friends place, and watch much of the game as well. I love it, especially the way the game's movement feels, the colour palette and the ambiance of the music really tie together to create an experience I've never had before. Very refreshing and I'm definitely picking it up for PC especially with the PhysX support for 8 and 9 series GPUs
-
Gamespot review of the PC port for Mirror's edge is out. I haven't read much but it seems there are a few bugs here and there marring the overall experience.
-
Anyone know if/when this will hit Steam or other DD outlets?
-
So, any demo for it?
-
It's on Steam now if ya want it... released today -
Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
Game looks great, but I heard it's quite short. Think I'll wait for it to drop a bit in price or pick it up used.
-
I was thinking about buying this one, it looks good, and the demo was fun. But how's the DRM? Not the STEAM version, that wont work for me since this game will be on both my guest PC and main PC, and steam doesn't allow any other pc to play ANY of the games on the list if I'm logged on.
I plan to do extensive testing and benchmarking on various OS's and system configurations with this game so there's absolutely no way I'll buy it if it uses SecuRom.
So.. anyone know? -

wait are you sure? i thought one person can play logged off and one person can play logged in?
-
-
Yeah I heard so long as one user is logged in on Steam, then you can play.
Obviously you can't log twice on different computers. But you don't even need to login (use offline mode). -
Offline mode doesn't work because some games refuse to launch in offline mode, and ALL steam games will not connect to the master server list because they are in offline mode, so someone else couldn't play online. I don't like having all of the games tied to one account where only one game can be played at a time. It's a terrible form of DRM, although still not as worse as the experienced I've had with SecuRom 7. -
Seems interesting concept
-
Hmmm, just installed this on my Macbook. Strangely it says that my 9600M GT does not support PhysX but I'm pretty sure it does. The performace is ok on Med textures high graphics, Vert on, and 4X AA. I'm still using stock drivers. Didn't Nvidia release some new notebook drivers not too long ago?
-
So is there a multiplayer aspect or only single?
-
Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing

Played through the first two missions. Fun game so far, I love the graphics. It's nice to see that the developers understand that immersive graphics don't necessarily have to be Crysis and take a massive performance hit. When playing a game your eyes catch on a limited number of things and so if you make them excellent, it seems like the entire game looks great.
-
Anyone else still crashing even with 1.01 patch and latest PhysX update that is supposed to fix the PhysX crashes? I'm using the 180.70 DOX drivers. Still getting crashes with PhysX on but it's fine without it.
-
Does anyone know if the 1.01 patch has been released on steam yet? I downloaded the new PhysX drivers but I'm still getting crashes during certain parts of the game. If I download the patch from the ME site can I apply it to my steam game?
edit: looks like I'm not the only one. ^^ -

I have 1.01 and I use steam, no crashes here for me with or without phisix but with it on it runs slower than a slide show in some areas, especially near glass and this is on my desktop with a q6600 @ 3.6ghz and dual 4850's
Phisix is a joke, poorly coded on purpose to force the advertisement and function of a phisix card, no way a overclocked quad could not handle the load if it was coded right. -
The game is nice, but just don`t have the time for it yet.
L4D is also awaiting nicely...
