Massively Multiplayer Online First Person Shooters, what's already here and what's on its way? I'm looking for customization, classes, and a leveling system. Anything fit the bill?

    Thanks!

There's also Gunz Online, but I don't know if it's still free or active.

STALKER is pretty much the closest thing you can get in single player mode, unfortunetely the online is vastly different (more like cs: source).

Team Fortress came and went. Team Fortress 2 was suppose to come out at the same time Half Life 2 did. Bah!

I think the guy said about "Massively Multiplayer Online" :)
    The games I know are:
-GunZ (good game, got classes, play so so) should play if you have time. FREE (i think, havent play for sometime)
-Warrock (great game, got some classes, gameplay is fast and furious) you really should play this. FREE (i think)

    Coming games i know are:
Huxley which I think is going to be PAY to Play

I like FREE TO PLAY, so I quit whenever I want and play again whenever I want
    Cheers :D

Old school game, Planetside. The first mmofps, the last time I played the population was very low. All good things come to an end, still a wonderful game in my mind!

I play Planetside. It's a bit dated now, but there is the potential there for some really awesome large scale battles.

No, a mmofps game is a first person shooting game in which you're part of a massive persistent world, like world of warcraft with guns and grenades.

    Theres a huge gap in the market atm when it comes to mmofps's;

I was looking forward to Huxley untill i heard it'll be like guild wars (Meet players in towns/outposts, go into ready made arenas to fight) but im 200% sure it'll be free just because it works like guild wars does and will use minimal system bandwidth (Probably just uploading your stats after every 'round?' to a master server)

Planetside was the last decent mmofps game and can be played for free untill battlerank 6/7 (I forget, they're like levels anyway) but like somebody else said the game is more or less dead and the huge battles (Like the 800+ people per side i witnessed when i first played years ago) are long gone.

They're seriouslly the only 2 on the market worth looking at, im sure theirs a few Korean and low budget ones floating about but they won't be worth looking at, you're best bet is to do like i do, cross you're fingers and hope some company fills that niche in the market.

In the meantime there are a few games (Like battlefield) that will give you a rank between all the servers you play on, which does give some sense of accomplishment, i just ordered rainbow six vegas for my xbox 360 because the demo was great, you actually unlock new armour and weapons as you go up the ranks which is neat and gives you something to play towards :)

I miss planetside... too bad it had so many problems.

I'm also disapointed in Huxley. It sounds like a persistant ladder game... i.e. you have persistant character stats across your games. The descriptions I've read recently make it sound like it's not an MMO at all.

Hellgate should be interesting I hope...

There are a few good sites that have info on MMO's that are being developed. Not many FPS ones though...
