Hello, I'm interested how well does GeForce 8400m GS, 8400m GT, 8600m GS, 8600m GT do compare to the desktop GPU. My desktop has 512MB 7600 GS and I'm looking for a laptop 13.3"~14.1" with a GPU that's identical or better than 7600 GS. Sorry I couldn't find it thru google

I believe the mobile equivalent to the desktop 7600GS was the Go 7700 and the newer gen equivalent would be a 8600M GS. The current gen version of the 8600M GS is the 9500M G. So what you are looking for is something like a 8600M GS/9500M G or faster. The 9500M GS/8600M GT seems to be quite common now, so you should really look at that to be your baseline.

Unfortunately I can't find a laptop with 8600m GS on 13.3"~14.1" except LG P300 which is not sold in US.

My hunch is that the closest Mobile card to a desktop 7600 GS would be the 8600 GS, but that is just a hunch.

On the first link, I searched for "matte" and got the following:

"Note to Asus: if you want me to buy another in the future, give me a matte finish as an option."

They are both Glossy. Matte is quite uncommon these days, especially on consumer laptops.
