i guess the desktop drivers should be out then. hopefully they don't bug out like the 10.9 drivers did. i had to revert back to 10.8 because of it.

Says file not found.
Also looked like the site didn't render properly... -

I just finished reading the Release notes ..... if what is being claimed by AMD is true then these drivers are amazing .... can't wait to download em
EDIT: I think they are being uploaded atm. -
Seems like nice increases for various games but still can't download cuz it says file not found.
Also the table is missing and it's just showing literalpanel1, 2, 3 and 4. -
Direct link (7/Vista 64bit).
Same thing but with OpenCL support: link -
Anyway the computers here at work finished downloading it in like 4 secs... Impressed. -

"ATI Catalyst 10.10a Hotfix Features:
Performance optimizations for systems with an AMD Radeon™ HD 6870 and AMD Radeon HD 6850 series of graphics products installed" -
These drivers are amazing!!! maybe ATI hooking up with AMD wasn't such a bad idea. Lol, now we now have 3D gaming and video.
-
Hotfix 10.10a is out and by what people are saying the tweaks dont only affect 6xxx versions. ATI Catalyst? 10.10a Performance Optimization Hotfix
Wonder if theres a way to mod these to work for notebooks. -

I hope folks understand that a 8 percent increase in framerate is 8 fps if you currently have 100, 4fps increase if you have 50, 2fps increase if you have 25. It's nice to see an increase but will probably not impact gameplay to much for most. What makes me happy is that AMD is trying to optimize performance and squeeze out more frames per second. Several releases of 8 percent increase and before you know it, your getting 6 more fps than you did before. That makes me happy. Best Wishes, StevenX

No idea

so do u install 10.10 than 10.10 a or are they 2 different drivers?
-
MahmoudDewy Gaming Laptops Master Race!
from what I understood it is a new better looking AA and not fps killing as the edge detect also it is not static so it will make the game look better especially when you have moving images
but so far it is only for HD6xxx & soon will be applied to the HD5xxxs according to the catalyst maker -
-
someone link to 32bit for me please

Hotfixes never get released for mobility cards. So we need to mod them in order to use them

I don't see any changes that help those with cards older than the 5xxx series
Then again the 10.8 drivers do seem a little more stable than 10.4. All I want is a driver that allow me to OC to 1000mhz stable at 990mhz so far
-
I now get a split second shadow glitch at the beginning of Dirt 2 when the game zooms in a bit to focus on the magazine on the table.
lol. -

Generally that is true. However sometimes drivers change the way a card behaves which then leads to different stable clocks.

no wonder my game world of tanks was hanging on he hotfix... brb... good thing now its working on 10.10... should have known hotfix was desktop... anyways , good to have a new driver now.. does it fix the overscan scalling issue we used to have with HDMI?

MLAA is a new type of Anti-Aliasing from AMD. It's not higher quality but higher performance. The difference is that the AA is processed by the shader processors and you get something like 4X AA with no overhead performance loss.
On some games with a lot of text or something similar, it may be a little fuzzy. Because it is running through Shader 5.0, it is only DX11 compatible, but it also means it will run on HD5xxx, not just HD6xxx. Future driver, 10.11 or so will implement this. 10.10a does not officially support MLAA for HD5xxx, but you can mod the INF/Registry to get it to work, 10.10a MLAA support is really for HD6xxx. But hopefully 10.11 will have this support for mobile HD5870M users.
MLAA may be able to run through DX9, but far as I've read, AMD has no plans for it. -
So is there any way to apply the hotfix to mobility cards yet? Something akin to mobility modder perhaps?
Could someone maybe please PM me if such a method gets discovered or uploaded?
Thank you. -
And there is no modified driver as of yet. But the person behind RadeonPro, a program that sets up automatic and custom profiles with some unlocked features is working on it. So you won't need to install the hotfix to enable this feature, at least that's his goal. RadeonPro works with mobile GPU. -
Yes please, anyone able to mobility mod it?
-
This is one of the few times I regret opting for switchable graphics.
I hope HP updates soon... -
City Pig....HP updates video drivers so rarely I'd not hold your breath. They haven't updated my video driver since launch....a year ago.

Performance increase in BC2?

Got 10.10a installed on my desktop with a 5870
Not really tried it out yet. I hear the new AA mode not so good for HUD elements since it does not know the difference between 3d/2d its more of a blur on the whole screen based on edge detection looks like to me.
Also not quite sure how to enable it since its a check box, once checking it do I need to disable "use application settings" and you still have to choose the normal AA mode you want to use. So I think its just an on/off thing via checkbox -
From what I've read, I agree. It seems when there is a lot of text, there may be some blur. The difference is that MLAA is running on shader units as Post-Processing. It's not the same as MSAA.
So this means, you can run both MLAA which has no performance hit ans still enable 2X-8X MSAA for extra boost. And yep it seems to be something you force through CCC. It's not enabled in game. But that's because it's Post-Processing, so no worries! But because it is Post-Processing, apparently can even effect 2D applications, not just 3D games? So turn it off I guess in when not gaming? Not entirely sure on that.
Enjoy your HD5870 and let us know how awesome free 4X AA is for you. Already aware not all games look awesome with it. But Starcraft II is supposed to be great with it. -

Someone needs to mobility mod the 10.10a hotfix asap.
-
mmm, is it me or the 10.10 are not downclocking the cards when idle ? In contrast with the 10.8's.
-
-
Yea im under the impression that something forced the cloaks to run that high since I just finished rolling back to the 10.8's and the cloaks were still up there. Installing 10.10 again so I can check the cloaks after the computer is left doing nothing for a while.
-
I tried installing catalyst 10.10 and I get an error message stating the hardware is not supported!! I currently have a Sony Vaio EA Series with ATI 5650 1GB ( Full Specs)
is there any mod I need to do for me to be able to install the latest drivers? -
Sony in its' backwards wisdom will only support drivers that come from sony's own website, which are usually half a year or more behind what is current. You can ask the sony forum for help I'm sure they found a way to hack around it.
-
New drivers are always welcome!
They fixed Bejeweled and Plants vs Zombies for me. Both can now be run with hardware acceleration enabled, though PvZ still slows down in some parts. Pylon energy field and Metalopolis slowdowns still occur in SC2 though. -
I had to roll back to 10.8. 10.10 is still too unstable in fps. I tried playing cod4 today and my fps went down from 60-100 to 20s. When I rolled back the driver, it went back to normal.
-
Well i can't get this driver to work, let alone install it.
Any tips? I've uninstalled the old ati software/drivers as i always do, restart and install the new package.
Yet it doesn't work, when the install is done ccc won't even open so i'm not even sure the 10.10 drivers are installed.
Any tips? -
If the version is 8.782.0.0 it is installed. -
8.683.2.0 is what it says, i just can't get the new driver installed. Soooo strange never had this before.
-
Tried to install again, and no succes.
Is it a dell stuido 17 issue? Cant install any new driver. System keeps saying that 8.683.2.0 are the best drivers......... -
has anyone successfully modded MLAA to work on mobility radeon 5 series yet? there's a ton of people modding desktop drivers, not sure if it's been done for mobile gpus yet.
-
Tell the device id of your grapic card and we can look if it is supported by this driver package.
