I've just ordered a HP dv7t - 2043cl with a t6400 4650 gddr3 and was wandering what kind of overclocking potential can I expect from it. Would I be wrong in assuming that it should by very least reach 4670 levels since its the same chip in there?
ps. does anyone know if the motherboard would accept P series core 2 duos and ddr3 ram?

I don't know alot about your notebook, but i do know that that gpu can reach verry high clocks. I'm sire you can bump up the memory clock alot and reach over 7-7.5k 3dmarks
-
The 4650 is DDR 2 most likely and not GDDR 3 as hp are cheapos... i hate hp... i wanna a GDDR 3 9600M GT...
-
Yeah most likely not ddr3 as it only comes with a few msi notebooks.

my sony vaio vgn-fw465 comes with 1gig of gddr3 on my mobility 4650

my sony vaio has 4650 but is
underclocked ... and
I have BSOD when tried to play overclocked = (((((
I want a real 4650 -

I think HP uses the GDDR3 HD4650s in their DV6 notebooks but the Nvidia cards that HP uses are all DDR2

BTW my latops better than urs triturbo ......

I have hp dv6-1260se and it has hd4650 1 gig gddr3.
But i can't see a difference after overclocking it,although it is more stable on stocksettings : 667/550. -
thanks for all who responded, I can confirm that dv7t's do infact carry gdd3 ram in their radeons. I haven't got my hands on the laptop yet, but from checking other posts it seems max reported stable overclock was at 680 / 800, so about 20% speed increase.

And there's always somebody with a better laptop. Even my cheap 2 year old Acer will out-game yours..so... -
My HP DV6 has 1GDDR3 HD4650...
