well guys, probably it has been posted before but i found a closed thread of a GMA 950 user who claims he could run some games on high, his user name is Beatsiz. The user HavoK was saying this was a lie and that the user was "High" when he made that claim. Well the gma 950 actually can run CS:S on High (some can do it on dx9) run games like hawx (totally playable all min 640x480 with possibly textures on med) and even CRYSIS (almost unplayable though but at some places its fine) and half life 2 runs fine but not on 1280x800, when i tried i got 15-25 fps. Think this is just a lie?( I SWEAR THIS IS NOT AN ADVERTISEMENT OR A LIE) If you guys can go to http://groups.google.com/group/intel9x-gaming which is a website that users actually get drivers from the X3100 and GMA 965 i believe, and mod them working for the GMA 950, the results are major. You can close this post if you want, but at least go on the website to check it out!!!! And to show the other side of the story, you do get B.S.O.D but it that is actually harmless to the comp. It happens about 2% of the time (tested on 100 startups) and the only game where this happens is CS:S

    just in case my specs:

    Intel Core 2 Duo 1.7ghz
    1gb Ram DDR2
    256MB GMA 9500 MODDED V.1545
    Vista Premium 32-bit

Good luck everyone and have a good day.

Interesting... would like to see how this pans out, might make the EEE1000HE more desirable again (after it was confirmed to NOT have GMA X4500).

Until a reputable review is posted about this from a reputable source, I call hogwash. We've had enough threads from users about this, including Beatsiz, and they were disproven in our own testing efforts. Nor did those users provide any solid proof if I remember correctly.

As always, if you are planning on gaming you want to consider a dedicated graphics card.

As they say on the Interwebs, source or GTFO. ;)
A video would be great - go from Device Manager showing the GMA 950 under Display Adapters to a game with great FPS.

    I always thought it was ~aww... censored~ :D

Easy way to verify - we got any well known members with a GMA 950 that can test this?

And even if it can run CSS, the Source and Cry engines are very different beasts...

From another perspective, lets say you *can* run highend games at low settings/FPS in integrated graphics... WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO?

Remember to get the Device Manager screenshot too - we need conclusive evidence that you are running it on a GMA 950, and not another graphics card.

I have access to various laptops regularly. If I spot one with a GMA 950 I'll pop a drive in, load up XP, and give these a shot versus stock drivers.
    I have my doubts.

I could never get the modded GMA965 driver to install on my GMA950, tried all of the things they say, doesn't work, I always get the error saying "this machine does not meet the minimum requirements to install". My notebook runs vista ultimate x32, if someone could post the drivers pre modded I'll try them. And yes I did everything exactly as they post on there, it's not that complicated to change two lines then hit save. The google group doesn't help, and everyone else who asks with the same problem never gets helped.

Oh god... dont quote me anymore... please :D
I knew what this was going to be about the moment I read the title... :)
All I can remember was that I played HL2, with no visually remarkable slowdowns on high

Who cares, its a thing of the past, and I didnt know how to produce results

But in all honesty, we were talking about a couple FPS difference vs some people claiming to play Crysis on high/very high on some IGP...

And I was the one being slammed on? :p

Anyways, there are a heck of a lot of little tweaks, updates, patches and stuff that you can apply to a GMA 950 to get it working a bit better.

There are quite a few threads about these drivers on here too by the way

It's possible. Only advantage X3100 has over GMA 950 is compatibility. Performance increase is there but its only 20-30%. GMA 950 might get higher top fps because it has much more fillrate than X3100.

There's only one way to modify the file, and that's to extract the installer to a folder somewhere. So obviously I've done that, it doesn't work. Why can't someone just put the pre done files that work for them in a .rar and put in on some file hosting site then post that? Is it so complicated?

Yashar, you've been given a chance to prove your claims, and haven't produced yet.

For netbook user, you can always overclock your GMA 950 integrated graphic card by using a software called GMAbooster.

I thought that program turned out to be completely ineffective.
And regardless of how fast your GMA 900/950 is, the fact is you don't have hardware transform & lighting or even vertex shaders. That alone is a massive handicap.

Alright, this thread has gone on long enough. Yashar Bagher Zadeh, you made some bold claims in your first post, but you haven't backed them up with any sort of proof and this thread has deteriorated into a lot of bickering. Until somebody posts proof that those drivers can do the things you claim, please don't bring this subject up again; it's borderline trolling.
