    Modding a 7970m to a 8970m?

    Wouls it be possible to mod a 7970m into a 8970m? Both seem to have the same hardware. Thanks

    If you think so, why would you need to mod the 7970M if it is already an 8970M? Appears to be a higher binned. All you would have to do is try to overclock the 7970M to same speed as 8970M then.

    2. OC the core by 50Mhz

    You could try loading in a 8970m VBios. I'm not sure if it doesn't work that it would brick it though.
    In any event it would be kind of pointless unless a set of drivers somehow benefitted it.
