I just pre-ordered a copy from Best Buy. Has anybody else pre-ordered the game? I'm just curious![]()

I never pre-order unless there's a significant price cut or major perk. There's always copies available, and I can wait a day or two after release if they hold them all for pre-orders.
I've been too disappointed lately with games to pre-order, anyhow.
That being said (I know, Mr. Negativity), I definitely am looking forward to Modern Warfare 2. CoD 4 was one of the best games I've played in a LONG time. -

I'm not to interested in it, plus I need to be more frugal as I make enough money to have some fun, but I got plenty of games. And I want to build a new desktop sometime, so I need to save up!

Yeah, this is the first game I have pre-ordered. I loved the first one so much, I want to get my hands on this one ASAP. Plus, now I don't have to worry about keeping track of the release date, as it will just show up in the mail -

I'm not planning on pre-ordering since the pre-order price is the same as the retail price and I might as well keep my money until it's out and buy it a few days after.
Like htwingnut (and many other people), I've very excited for Modern Warfare 2 because I love COD4. I've played that game so much. -

I nearly pre-ordered it today after replaying a few levels of COD4, but then just decided to buy it when it was released. There's multiple stores in my area so I should be able to pick it up fairly quickly after release.

God damn COD2 engine
-
COD4 was the best game i had played since COD2. i still prefer COD2 though. lol.
tbh games at the moment are pretty poor. graphicly, they are awsome, but gameplay and entertainment wise, theyve slipped by a mile. playing old N64 games reminded me. i hate the whole bad attitude thing in games at the moment (need for speed springs to mind) but it seems every game at the moment seems to NEED bad attitude characters for some bizzare reason. playing the old quake games where even the bots say nice shot instead of mocking you makes the whole thing so much more fun.
anyway, back on topic, COD MW2 is gonna be awsome... if my laptop will run it....
it would run COD 4 maxxed with no aa and only slightly dropped detail effects (smoke, soft shadows, anything that is a particle effect) and that was only cos my video ram isnt large/fast enough, so im prety hopeful it will run it. -
Release date says Nov 10, 2009. I don't get too anxious about games any more unless they've gone gold. It'll be a good surprise when it's released. Of course now that you say that I'll have to go back and replay CoD 4. It's one of the few games I've played all the way through in the last several years.

I agree 100%.
COD4 is one of those rare releases with a brilliant single player game and ALSO a brilliant multiplayer game.
Looking forward to it. -
Nov 10 is the Marine Corps birthday.
So I will be getting totally wasted at the ball and then come back home to play some MW2 for the first time. My night will be something like that. -

Will Steam be carrying this game for pre-order or purchase?

almost certainly.

this actually applies to spoken english (as well as written english, especially for the second part)
in common spoken english, "definite maybe" suggests that you are certain that you really have no scope of the likelihood of an outcome. this is uncertainty.
also common spoken english (and written english), "almost certainly" suggests that you have an extremely specific knowledge of the likelihood of an outcome, and that the likelihood is very high.
Definitely Maybe ~ "I believe the likelihood of a particular outcome is 50%, with a very low (almost 0%) confidence that my guessed likelihood is within a small, arbitrarily chosen percentage of the actual likelihood"
Almost Certainly ~ "I believe that the likelihood of a particular outcome is 100%, with a very high (almost 100%) confidence that my guessed likelihood is within a small, arbitrarily chosen percentage of the actual likelihood"
And, as far as Modern Warfare 2 being released on Steam, let me just say that I am 95% certain that the odds of MW2 being released on steam are 97% +/- 3%. -
MW2 is already a best seller just from pre-orders.

Im gonna pre-order it, I pre-order almost all my games since if you do they usually give you extra stuff like DLC or a Demo.
-
the countdown begins... 100 days to go.
Game in the uk are selling pre order with £10 off for £34.99
i wonder if steam will beat this price. -
also if you had up 10, 11, and 9 you get 30 which is the number of days in November when modern warfare 2 will not be released. ^^
-
hmmm, ill wait till x-mas! xD jk

How will the system requirements compare to MW?
-
Some say its the same Graphic engine as CoD4?
-
I don't expect the graphics to improve much, if at all, due to it being a console game, not a PC game. Darn consoles holding us back but that's where the money is. They won't waste time releasing a special PC version taking advantage of a PC's strengths.
-
Good news is that CoD 4 graphics were great, and MW2 (I keep thinking Mech Warrior 2 ... ok, I'm old) should run well on notebooks that ran CoD 4 well. The gameplay was fantastic so I won't complain too much.
-
Preordered prestiege for 360, but think i should downgrade to hardened?
-
Not unless you want to play in regular vision!
This game will be EPIC! -
aww man! Hope that prestiege edition comes out with PC version... which I don't think so :S
-
it wont, nor hardened
-
-
I will pre-order it. The local game store I go to sometimes releases games a couple days early so hoping MW2 will be one of them
-
Think you get a free poster if you preorder
-
-
But I agree that the consoles are holding the visuals back, so I imagine the system requirements will be more or less the same as COD4.
