what a tease.
-
Watch the teaser and go pausing it through the firefight.
Among other things, I noticed the sillouette of the Redeemer Christ statue in Rio de Janeiro. So at least one part will take place in Brazil, it seems.
I saw an off-shore platform, Little Bird Helos, a carrier, several warships. Anybody recognized anything else?
Can't wait!!! -
OMG I'm so excited.
-
No silenced G3 no care
-
Hmm, I wonder what they're trying to hint at?

On the official site you can sort of analyze the video, probably to let people build speculation and hype, I don't know.. Definately looking forward to it so long as it's on PC like all the others -
lameeeeeeeeeee
-
sounds like a terrorist attack to me, and the guy said no russian with kind of an american accent, hmmm
-
No ACOGs or M16's; I don't care.
-
Kind of weird teaser, I couldn't catch a thing
-
The graphics dont look very good, all greenish..
-
-
Hm... Stealth!?
Didn't really get excited over the "teaser". Seems like it's going to be another terrorist/bomb related story... -
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan

Really cool teaser, but CoD has gotten way to formula-ic, I can't even stand the single player anymore, and the multi-player has gotten way to console centric with small maps and what have you.

Finally, another modern warfare COD. I'm so sick of WWII. I'll be mad if they change it to COD: Modern Warfare 2: WWII Reenactment.
-
It seems as though the dropped the call of duty branding for modern warfare 2 though....
the words "Call Of Duty" are not seen anywhere in the trailer. Maybe infinity ward is sick of being lumped together with Treyarch
Edit: confirmed
"Aside from, uh, gameplay footage, the one thing that was deemed conspicuously absent from Modern Warfare 2's explosive teaser trailer was the Call of Duty branding. Whether developer Infinity Ward is still debating the nested sequel's final title or simply hopes to distinguish its next FPS from the other 37 Call of Duty games on shelves is up for speculation, but it's hard to argue the independent prestige that lies behind Call of Duty 4's "Modern Warfare."
An Activision spokesperson seems to agree, telling Joystiq, "At this time, all we are free to say is that Modern Warfare has taken on such a life of its own, it has become our focus now." Since Modern Warfare 2 is almost certain to spawn another iteration after it releases this November, it may be best to ditch the Call of Duty brand before we end up with something like Call of Duty 17: Modern Warfare 6: Moderner Warfare 3: Lasers are Bad News: Aerosmith.
Update: Activision has just officially announced the November 10th arrival of "Modern Warfare 2" -- sans "Call of Duty.""
Modern Warfare 2 is not part of the Call of Duty series. -
AHHH NO TAXIS, I DONT CARE
bloody hell its a trailer... they dont wana give it all away.
It looks interesting, i wonder if the original character you play as in number 4 is still there. -

Thanks for the link . . . at the very least it helped me get ready to go to bed.
I'm not getting my hopes up for graphics; CoD 4 was bad enough. Take away the textures and you're left with Quake 3. I want innovative graphics with moving scenery and advanced lighting effects. Crysis showed just how good graphics could get with the right environmental variables, lighting, and shading. I'd like to see more games take that approach rather than just using a lot of high-res textures, which is an illusion of good graphics. The Call of Duty games consistently do this.
Also, I agree with the earlier comments that the small maps, etc are way too console like. If there's going to be a PC version of this, let's hope it isn't a console experience like CoD 4. -
Well Crysis does show the possibilities, it also is plagued with performance issues. Call of Duty series has always performed excellent, even on older machines, and when its primarily a multiplayer game, especially on the PC, the amount of people that can actually play the game the better.

Now all the developers has made a trend of realeasing in consoles first and then pc because of piracy.
-
I don't know if the absence of the Call of Duty brand is a good thing or a bad thing. I loved COD4 and I am really looking forward to Modern Warfare 2 but I hope it doesn't stray too far from the original elements that made me fall in love with COD4.
-
I just think its kind of funny that Infinity Ward is being booted out of the franchise they created. It seems that treyarch will now be responsible for future CoD games.
