The bad news: it does indeed cost money, same as the Xbox and PS3 versions, meaning it's the first time in the history of the Call of Duty franchise that we actually have to pay for maps.
The good news: if you pre-order, it's 10% off, so $13.49 instead of the full $15.
I'm personally kind of on the fence about this one. I object to paying for this on principle, but on the other hand, I enjoy MW2, I play it a lot and I do want this content.

screw them. sorry, but seriously. paying for a handful of maps, $15 for a handful of maps... it's a joke. that's more than I payed for GTA4, and almost what I payed for L4D2... In fact, it's almost half what I payed for the whole game of MW2.
-
no. never. ripoff.
that is all -
At their current price? No way.
-
Sorry got no money...anyways , 15 for a new map pack? I'd get another game.. anyways , plenty of maps already in MW2...
-
No screw them
3 new maps and 2 maps from COD4 not worth it -
Meh, I gave in. Call me a sellout, but I play MW2 more than any other game at the moment. I know I'm eventually going to buy it anyway, so I might as well do it now and save two bucks.
-
Good job supporting the grim future of games.
-
So because I spent my money where I want to spend it, I'm weak?
Also, YOUR WALL OF BOBBY KOTICK DOES NOT FAZE ME -
I don't plan on buying it. I haven't played MW2 for 2, maybe 3, months. I like the game, but 9/10 games all I did was lag, so I went back to MW1.
-
The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
The friend of my enemy is my enemy.
The friend of activision is my dummy. -
i might buy it but not sure.
sense i just bought mw2 about week ago and so far im likeing it not as much as bc2 but sometimes i just like too play a fast match which i like about mw2 sense the match's isint as long. -
I will not buy it at the current price. Really, $15 for 5 maps and 2 of them are from COD4?! No way.
-
nope, ill be passing on this thanks all the same, i played 400+ hours of the game but im done with it.......a few new maps isn't going to to lure me back....
-
that's so retarded -.- steam is even selling mw1 cheaper than that stupid little map pack
-
I bought an account with Mw2 on, for 10€.
Seriously the worst multiplayer FPS i've played in years. That anyone would spend 60€ on the horrible thing alone and now 15€ on 3 stupid maps blows my mind.
-
This map pack = 13.49
MW1 Weekend Deal = 14.99
I'm pretty sure Valve is trying to tell us something... -
I'll probably but it. Quit playing BFBC2 for a while and went back to MW2 so it's a little refreshed
-
already bought it. why cry about 13 bucks when u buy a 3000 dollar laptop
-
that's weak by definition. -

Haha, no I'm not going to buy it. In fact, today I deleted MW2 off my hard drive, I'm glad to get the piece of crap game off my PC.
Bobby KoDICK and Activision can all rot in hell. They won't be missed. -
It's actually pretty ironic. On the Steam forums, you see all these threads of "BOYCOTT ACTIVISION AND THEIR GREED, BUY COD4 INSTEAD OF THE DLC FOR THE SAME PRICE!"

Enjoy your hacker and lag filled matches Mastershroom.

whats funny is i see people fussing all the time about lag this and lag that... while, yes, it does suck i tend to play very well through the lag... i think it has made me a much better player to be honest... i am on guam so unless i am the host the lag is atleat 250 ms... and thats on a good match... so try playing with my connection lol... iwnet just needs a better way to pick the host to be honest... i've been told they judge host by download speed but upload speed is the heart of being a good host, that and having a good enough computer to handle hosting
granted the cure for all this would have been didicated servers but if youre gonna play the game the best thing to do is quit fussing about not having dedi servers cause it ain't happenin joe, then maybe you can enjoy the game for what it is... JUST A GAME!!!
and hackers is a whole other story... the other day i talked my entire team into switching to the stock riot shield class and used the in game chat to convince the other team not to kill our team and we would just let them have all the domination points so they can win... the hacker just left cause he couldn't get any kills... easiest way to get rid of them... i would do that if a hacker was on my team....... OR you can just leave -

Hating MW2 is the new iPhone, its the the thing to do. Dont, call me a fool.
I enjoyed this game like many other people obviously, 12 euros for 5 maps, what is so horrendous about that I just dont understand. Why should it be free?
You dont like it, you go buy something else there are plenty of games for you to buy.
Dont go around calling me a fool because I pay for things that I enjoy.
you cry because people steal games on the internetz, killing the industry, you cry because people pay for games on the internetz, supporting it, troll.
I really got to stop hanging around forums...I cant handle it >< -

I'm a big fan of a company called Tripwire Interactive. Their prices for games are reasonable. And their DLCs are totally free, even when you get new levels, perks, maps, and even new mod content. All totally free.
So why should it be free, *shrug* maybe because you already paid for it? Is MW2 really worth $59,99? To me only if all future contents are free and if they guarantee new content every 3-6 months. -
-
i have to. i love crash too much.

Yes. I gave the game a chance. Big mistake, I wish I never dropped $60 on the horrendous, gargantuan piece-of-trash known as Modern Warfare 2.
-
I have no problem paying for DLC, as long as it is something good enough for a try. But from there to paying 15usd for 5 maps where two are remakes (probably a change in textures, if any change at all) is a bit too steep in my book.

Good to see some other people in here with some common sense, instead of all these sheep "gamers" hehe :3
-
I really don't see why you have to resort to name-calling just because I spent my own money on something that you won't.
-
Why do you people care how the OP spends his money?
Get over it, it's the corporate world, companies are gonna milk their customers until they reach a point where they can't do it anymore. You see it everywhere, stop being a crybaby about it, it's reality.
Now, for me, the map pack is overpriced when you look at it from the point of view that MW2 was already $60, and now they're charging an additional $15 for a handful of packs. That being said, I might buy it anyways, seeing as the $15 spent is probably like two meals...and I'll probably get a lot more enjoyment out of the DLC than I would otherwise out of the $15. It's worth it to me, if it's not worth it to you, great, don't buy it and stop crying. I only play a handful of games (CSS, MW2, SC2 in the future, PS3 NBA games once in a blue moon) so it's not like I spend a lot on games anyways, so this is OK for me. -
I bought COD4 for $15
First time Ive played it since it came out on PS3, and now I can max it out at 60 fps and play in dedicated 50 player servers... lol Im happy
anyways map pack seems way over priced, so does the game itself -

i don't get it. payed dlc is happening anyway. either buy and play or do not buy and stop wining that it costs money. everything costs money now a days.
just get a pack of smokes less or drink a beer less.
love these threads. eventually most people who now says i won't buy will buy anyway.
i rather pay some extra to maximize my fun of one game then buy 4 games that u trow in a corner after a while. thats wasting money -
-
Anyway, just close tab and return to your horrible game. -
don't hate the player, hate the game -
-
I used to enjoy MW2 and it was much better than the nade fest in CoD4 and I was pretty good at it but adding new maps just means more path memorization and it doesn't add much to the game at all. The $10 DLC for Borderlands added new weapons, new story with likable and hilarious characters, new level cap, new map, new vehicles and much more for me and that held more value than the stimulus package that I would have even paid $15 or even $20 for that DLC.
Now I will probably buy the Stimulus package eventually but probably not now or in the next few months until I need something new again. Not trying to be sheep like Activision sucks or anything, I just think the level of satisfaction I can gain from $15 could be put to better use instead of in a map pack that doesn't necessarily even let me use the content at free will... -

I would pay DICE $15 to release a BC2 OPTIMIZATION PACK.
