Hey guys, i have posted numerous times in the stickies but no one has ever replied to my question regarding my laptop being able to run MOdern Warfare 2.

Well my nephew (around 14) has the same laptop as me and i want to get him Modern Warfare 2 for his 15th birthday as a surprise which is next week.

So you understand i really need to have an asnwer to wether or not my laptop (identical to his specs) can run the game at playable framerates.

    Thank you so much!

It'll run, but you will certainly have to disable many effects altogether and perhaps turn down your resolution in order to get acceptable FPS. The main shortcoming in your system is the graphics card; the 8400M GT is equivalent to the 9200M GS and is considered on the low-end of medium-range graphics cards.

I'm not sure I would recommend that application; while it's a great idea in theory, in practice it just measures the amount of video memory your GPU has, which is not at all an accurate representation of performance.

Ya you probably will get more posts hating than helping, but whatever..

You should be fine with those specs, expect medium settings at a lower resolution.

It still is for a few, but the majority were turned off to the game by all the changes IW/Activision did to it. There are a number of threads discussing all of these changes, for better or worse. You may want to check them out.

I would say you won't be able to see and enjoy the real COD MW2. Rather you will be playing like old CODS with modern weapons and maps.
