More Work Being Done On Modern Warfare 3|Just Push Start
-
-
Ewww. Why can't this franchise just die already?
-
With the way Activision's working on the franchise, they're slowly killing it insted of their wanted "improvement". It'll die one day
-
They have Last Stand perk enabled >:[ Bunch of n00bs...
-
I hope so. There has been no "improvement" since the days of Call of Duty 4.
Made me lol. Let's just hope they finally drop the grenade of Martyrdom deathstreak and end themselves in the process. -
Only CoD that I liked is the first one and the United Offensive expansion. CoD2 isn't that bad but the new one just boring as hell. I still play 4 but not as much nowadays
-
Cod4 is the epitomy of the Cod series. It only goes downhill from there. BFBC2 set the bar with destructible environments and if Modern Warfare 3 wants to compete then they'll have to also take into account physics and destructible environments. But then you'll need the most powerful and modern hardware to run it, well the same with BFBC3. No diggity, no doubt...
-
The problem is in all these franchises they keep adding stuff, but rarely ever optimize what they have first. So it's just more bloat on top of more bloat.
-
What I noticed now is that Call of Duty especially MW2 multiplayer feels just to arcadey, like Quake. That ain't so bad, but I want something more realistic and gritty, like BFBC2. hehe
-
I really liked MW2, the multiplayer was a lot of fun, better than Black Ops imo. But htwingnut is right, they should improve the gameplay instead of adding perks and crap like holo sights with smileys (see Blops)
-
Novalogic's Delta Force 2. Best FPS multiplayer. Bring back that sort of large open playing field to these military genres and that would be a vast improvement instead of running around in a caged environment.
-
I prefer the Battlefield franchise. I haven't cared much for COD since COD 4.
-
Interesting how they are doing so well "marketing" the product and it showed with the huge success of sales it enjoyed. Heck, I even bought into it. I barely made it halfway through the campaign before I got so bored and haven't even launched the game since early December.
They're doing a great job on the trailers as well, must be a recipe for success. -
The COD games have horribly linear single player that isn't very innovative and no destructible scenery. The multiplayer has no vehicles and usually little teamwork like the Battlefield games do.
-
I like bc2's larger maps and the vehicles to go with them too - sniping is pretty much useless in cod games since you can see from one spawn to the other in every map.
-
battlefield bad company 2 !!!!!!!!!!
-
CoD series is goin the way of NFS. Please bury it ASAP, Activision. After Most Wanted, NFS was wiped out. Same is the case for CoD series after Modern Warfare. Same style being rehashed year after year.
-
It's just CS on steroids. That's why many play it.
-
I was actually quite happy with MW2 other than the crappy IWnet nonsence... i hope we get a good MW3 but yeah activision needs a few kicks up its rear..
Well come on MW3!

Is it time for a new hardware gen finally ? by necessity?
-
Yeah the kind of roids that short people take in order to feel like they're huge but end up only shrinking balls.
THe only good thing about franchises, and their partner in crime, consoles, is that they keep the stupid and the 8 year olds away from the games that I play. -
I loved that game back in the day, along with the first DF. I miss being able to run around for 5 minutes just to flank the enemy and create havoc.
-
After MW2 I lost interest.
They're pumping the series out without focusing on quality just to make a quick buck -_- -
yeah its all been downhill since 4. I have nothing against cod really, cod4 was the first cod i purchased, great port, fun campaign and multiplayer, it had almost everything. Skipped 5 and mw2 and bought black ops...wow i wish i could get that $70 back. Played for about 30-40 hours and im totally bored of it, also to add to that is the frustration of the terrible port.
If mw3 actually turns out to be decent, like a true sequel to cod4 i might consider getting it, but another recycled game = no thanks. -
BO has some other things like nice singleplayer/zombie maps that are really cool and a BOarcade. Plus with multiplayer for someone thats never played COD before I enjoy it all the interigation room is really cool. Besides for the god offel times when the game decided to stop responding on me and I have to control alt del out of it and restart which happens randomly every 10-20 hours its all fun. Im almost prestiege 4
-
I liked mw2. Yeah the story wasn't great but i still found it to be fun. Black op was a little better. Maybe they should takes some cues from the battlefield series.
-
Good times that. Or walking 5 mins+ just to knife a sniper. Or nade using the M203 1000+ yards away.
Best Attack and defend and search and destroy multiplayer. No one's quite duplicated the fun since. -
Well said! They have all these gun and logo customizations which are nice, but they could've used that effort on actual gameplay. CoD4 was awesome (the first CoD game I played). MW2 was good at first with its fast-paced gameplay but after a while it was like "AC-130 in the air... good job comrades, victory is ours." Slightly unbalanced. Now Black Ops is pretty good except for the sniping issue the first couple months. I think BO feels the same as CoD4 which is kinda a con because there's no new excitement.
I hope MW3 brings in new gameplay aspects that make it stand out from the previous games. -

I love Call of Duty games. All politics aside, they do make a great series of FPS.
-
+1 I don't know why the rest of you guys are haters, but I like all the CoD's except for 5(kinda boring, but ok)
-
Hey if there are like 1237 Final Fantasys I don't see why there can't be 8 CoDs.
-
agreeed... lol.. final fantasy is probably a worse game than COD...

COD4 was the last great COD. MW2 had a crappy, nonsensical storyline and the MP was pretty much just COD4 with a few bonuses. Black Ops was just a reskinned rehash of MW2.
-
Made me lol. That's fairly accurate.
For me on TDM, it's more like "ENEMY APACHE IN THE AIR!... "you must try better next time, comrades." -
They dont just spend a year on a game, they spend upwards of 4 years per game. The amount of final fantasys and there releases are spread all the way back to the first Nintendo, time and production value go along way, that said regardless of time the last few have sucked.
Back to CoD discussion though, I doubt the next one will be called Modern Warfare 3, I thought the two devs that left held the rights to the name and they can only green light the next? Or am I completely off base? -
i know, after most wanted the nfs series were killed. I guess the concept of evolution is getting more complex and boring.
-
Curious to see what the next mainstream FPS game to take over is. First it was Counter Strike, then the Halo series, and right now its CoD. Of course Counter Strike and Halo are still massive hits, but CoD is currently more popularized.
On a side note, I will gladly pay $60 for a couple new maps/skins, maybe a remote controlled helicopter toy, and a new smiley face crosshair. Hell, throw in negative recoil and a poor PC version of the game and we'll call it a date. -
Don't forget the $15 for a map pack 4 weeks after release, which was already in the game just "locked" away. Nickel and dimed to death, they figure they can get away with a half-assed rehash using the same engines and everything so why not?
You'll know what the next mainstream fps is when all the 'bros have to have it for their xbox. Though BF3 is going to be pretty big...
Modern Warfare 3 pretty much announced.
