Modern warfare 2 ps3 v pc?

your laptop will render better frames and higher resolutions than your PS3. PS3 version will be limited to something at or below 720p and your TV will have to upscale.

unless you have some PSN friends you want to game with, I'd just hook my laptop up to my HDTV and buy a good wireless controller. or even wireless kb&m and get the best possible experience.

I'm only getting the 360 version because I want to play with my friends.

I doubt the PS3 will be rendering MW2 in 1080i/1080p. The list of games the PS3 renders in 1080 is pretty small.

 

Modern Warfare 1 ran on the 360/PS3 at 1024x600 and so will the sequel. The image is then upscaled but that is the native resolution. As mentioned, the vast majority of 360/PS3 games run at 720P or below.

Granted, it may not be as noticable since you sit further back from a TV than a monitor, so you can get away more often with running a game below native resolution on consoles.

Im thinking about getting this for my "gaming desktop" in my sig. How will it run? And will there be split screen for the consoles?

EDIT: also, since i have windows xp, i can only play in dx 9 as u know. How big of a difference will it be between dx9 and dx10.1 for MW2?? And sry if i sound dumb what what dx version does the consoles play on?

I recommend buying an HDMI cable and running the laptop connected to your TV for 1080p.

I own a PS3, and quite frankly the only game you should ever buy for a console when you have a choice is the one you intend to play when in a "less-than-optimal" state. (note that console-specific ones you don't have any choice)

Shooters of any kind are 20x better with a mouse than anything the console can even dream of doing. Auto-hit/auto-win FTL.

 

If you can't run it at 60fps, buy the PS3 version. Or, buy the version your friends are getting.

 

what is the deciding factor of which game ur friends get? what about their friends? does it just keep going and going until it gets to the ultimate friend and he is friends with everyone?

im getting it for 360, their community is unbeatable, i will gladly pay 3$/month for their service. + Achievements FTW and the game is fine for gfx + i can play splitscreen with my friends. the rest of fps mostly will be for my rig below.

 

I am the ultimate friend and I am buying this game for the PC.

 

Concerning FPS, PCs are the way to go.. I mean, once you get used to play FPS on a PC, you can't play it on a playstation/xbox.. it's just awful.. trying to aim with a pad makes me ragequit 99,999% of the time

 

The real burn for consoles is the auto-hit/auto-win "feature".

Knowing you can't beat the game without the computer cheating for you should be frustrating.

 

lol k. you do realize its not as strong as you think tho. and playing on a couch > sitting in a chair. but to each his own. i have gaming pc and love it a lot cuz of the online >16 players + IT HAS TF2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes, but its much more awkward. ofc. you can get a controller and use it, but using a kb + mouse sitting on a couch = fail. the onyl way is if you buy a 360 pc controller. lol 360 controller + crysis = FAIL!!!!!! i tried it out a few days ago.
