Hey just got a new pc and i want to buy a cool new game to play it on :p Ive narrowed it down to these two games but cant decide. I love FPS games so both are my kind of thing, although ive never played L4D2 but it looks awesome and ive always been a fan of Valve's games. Ive also heard that Modern Warfare is better to get for console as it is abit of a let down on pc, is this true? and whats this talk of no dedicated servers? Does that mean no online play?

    Thanks :)

Ok, no dedicated servers means that you can't choose who you are connecting to, They do it for you like on consoles....most pc games have dedicated servers and that is why most pc gamers are mad. I Love mw2 on the pc, The story is awesome and multiplayer is so much fun. If you live in the U.S. you shouldn't have many connection problems.

Download the l4d2 demo on steam and see if you like it. Personally I think it's the same thing as l4d1 and I liked l4d1 but I got bored of it after awhile.

They're different games. It's hard to compare both. L4D2 is a more light hearted, visceral zombie survival game. MW2 is a run and gun shooter akin to the first one albeit with a few improvements which I think make it more enjoyable.

I own and love both. If I had to pick one, it would be MW2.

There are no server list? I can't see ping times of servers I am connecting to? I live in Asia, what if I keep connecting to far away places?

I own both (unfortunately) and love only one. If you still have trouble deciding which one to buy, look into my sig.

IW hates Asian people so yeh, no dedicated servers. But hey, there are some good news, it only costs $60.

I would choose Call 4 Dead with MP of COD and SP of L4D2.

Unless you spend at least 3 hours a day everyday for the past ten years of your life playing online FPS (and I stress "online," competing against the computer doesn't make you better than other people), you will most likely have a hard time surviving in CoD multiplayer games. That's my two cents. But in terms of game play, MW2 out runs L4D2 by a mile in my opinion.

They both fill different needs - I have both and L4D2 fills the cooperative teamplay (need good teams for the missions / beat other teams) while MW2 has a much better single-player mode (but is a bit short) and pretty much what you'd expect for it's multiplayer frag-fest. Multiplayer on MW2 does feel quite a bit less forgiving than on L4D2 - it just sucks for my wallet that so many great games came out at once...
