Gears of War will run pretty much maxed out at 1280x800 with post processing turned on low or medium

Your card is slightly better than mine. You will be able to run Bioshock maxed out at 1280x800, running a constant 30+ fps (except for the intro sequence). You might want to disable high level shaders for an extra 10fps but a significant decrease in the next-gen graphics.

Crysis will probably run on low.

Like Lithus said, get another gig of ram. Since you're running XP, you might be able to get away with only 1gig, but eventually you will need more ram.

I never hurts to add another gig. They are going for $20-25 over at newegg.

But try and see how the games run if you find they are a bit choppy then get another gig of ram.

You could run most games on high without some of the unnecessary resource-hogging options.

    Crysis will run on low.

Another gig of RAM will give you more turbocache memory.

There is no turbocache on the go 7800GTX. I have a XPS M170 and I play Gears of War with Medium settings and Texture Settings High and one more option high can´t remember right now and that is played at 1920x1200 with fps ranging from 30+ to 20+ depending on situation.

Now my 7800GTX is overclocked to 446/1200 and I have 2GB Ram which gives you a boost.

Crysis struggles at medium, though if you lower resolution you can play it fine. At low settings I can run Crysis in 1920x1200 though it looks like crap in my opinion.

Not every thing, for instace Colin McRae Dirt is a very demanding game that can´t be run on high at 1280x800. But I play mostly my games at 1920x1200. Now Call of Duty 4 won´t run good at that res, but it runs at 20+ at 1920x1200 so it isn´t that bad :)

GOW with 2 Gig. Post Processing is usually HDR and Blur is I´m not mistaken. Someone correct me if I´m wrong.

Definitely add another gig of ram to your setup the difference in all games is quite marked.

Crysis runs fine at 1280x800 with most settings med to high with the advanced lighting and shadow effects off.
