Mount & Blade is a game made by a husband and wife team from Turkey.

The game revolves around medieval combat, but mainly around the aspect of mounted combat.

I never tried the beta, which many people I know were obsessed with, but I did try the 1.003 trial.

Not a day after the trial did I go buy the full 30$ key to unlock the whole game. I am extremely impressed with this game and will definitely chalk it up with one of my favorite games of all time... Even though I am not even 5% into the game.

And it runs perfect on my system!

    Happy happy joy joy!

Mount&Blade is great. Many people that are into Medieval Recreation groups like it.
There are also many mods, include some of Medieval Japan.
I wish I had the time to delve into it like it deserves.

If somebody someday releases a mod where you can use a Nintendo wiimote to control it, I'll kiss my social life goodbye :)

    It's single player only.

And the download i linked to is for a trial that only allows you to get to level 7.

You can buy their key for it for 30$ from www.taleworlds.com.

The game is AWEOSME! In my opinion at least.

There is just sooo much you can do.

I played through the trial today, I'm pretty impressed with it. First game I've seen where they have laid out a whole world for you and just said "have fun". Oblivion kind of did that, but there was still a main storyline to go through. This is the first game where there is no storyline, you have to make it yourself. I think it kind of encourages a little roleplaying and imagination as well. Nobodies going to tell you to join this group or kill that person... it's up to you.

Very interesting. I'm considering buying it, although I just bought Crysis Warhead a couple days ago and still have to play through that

Bringing back a dead thread here... Just downloaded it and played it. Very addicitve. I absolutely taking part in the big battles, so much fun!

I recommend people try this, can't lose with the Level 7 free trial. Other games should take note.

I had bought it, played it for about a month but never turned it on again, lol... It is addictive though if you can keep with it.

Battles are definitely awesome though, the highlight of the game.

Im at level 50+ or something with an army of 400+. I have almost conquer all of the world, but getting there was the most difficult part. It is an awesome game that I still play like crazy.

Sadly, its only single player, but in the next expansion Mount And Blade Warband it WILL have multiplayer. Hope that answers your question :D

If you like guns then you'll love The Eagle And The Radiant Cross oh and did i mention there's quite a few "unique" weapons that you can only find by winning BIG battles or if your REALLY REALLY lucky http://forums.taleworlds.net/index.php?PHPSESSID=4d56ab81d7359c90755bd3f8fafec56c&topic=32416.0
There's also a pretty neat Star Wars mod out there. lightsabers + massive battles = win
