Is lifting off mouse good during FPS games? Should I try to minimize my lifting off?

General consensus will be yes. I generally tell people that they should be able to do three quarters of a circle without liftoff. That at least allows you to spin around, shoot a few times before you need a breather.

I'm no FPS god - quite the opposite, in fact - but from what I've seen, professional CS players move their mice from the left edge of their mousepad to the right and it turns them about one circle, give or take.

I try to minimize liftoff. Get yourself a nice big mouse pad and play around with your settings and find a good balance of speed and precision. You should be able to make at least one full rotation in-game in one swipe of the mouse.

I'm a low sensitivity/DPI FPSer, so I do quite a bit of liftoff. I tend to overshoot/lead my target if my DPI is too high.

Then again, I don't really consider myself all that good, soooo...
