    Welcome,

What I tested is that the last good driver with great performance and no problems is 389.20.

All newer drivers have bug that wakes up dedicated gpu in windows. All the time after about 10 seconds dedicated gpu goes on full clocks.

This problem is on Msi laptops with Optimus support. Dont know if its also on Dell, Clevo ?

Why bother? On good driver your gtx 780m has idle temperature below 25 celsius, with bug it goes over 35 celsius.

I uploaded picture on how good driver should work in gpu-z

Ok new driver with good performance is 399.41.

Has also this bug as default.
I modded inf file to fix this problem. This inf is only for 399.41.

    Copy/paste to folder display.driver.

To install this driver you need to disable driver signature in win10.

Enjoy and if you want share your results if it works for you ;)

ps. my device id is NVIDIA_DEV.119F.10EA.1462

You can also put your device id in place of mine but remember to delete your original device id from inf.

Ok this will be my last driver for 2019. Similar performance to 399.41.

Driver 412.36 that I modded to support 780m. Driver dated 25.04.2019. It was for quadro notebook but it will work.

If you want physx or optimus just copy them from other 411 series drivers to this extracted driver folder.

    Replace inf file with mine.

    Copy/paste to folder display.driver.

To install this driver you need to disable driver signature in win10.

Enjoy and if you want share your results if it works for you ;)

ps. my device id is NVIDIA_DEV.119F.10EA.1462

You can also put your device id in place of mine. Should work with other mobile kepler gpus.

What I checked is newer drivers are slower than older ones. Tested 420 series and 430 series. If you want do some benchmarks on your drivers and for example test also 399.41 and compare.

ps. do you get this bug that each 10 seconds your dedicated gpu goes on full clocks??

I've tested all this already here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/780m-sli-throttle-m18xr2.829574/

My GPU clocks are stable, don't move a bit. Single or SLI mode.

You should try out the driver I linked, it's a custom modded driver by @j95

I can only use original driver after I make modification of inf file. If not there will be this bug. All the time after about 10 seconds gpu switches from intel to gtx 780m.
