I was just curious would it be possible to buy a newer laptop and make it multiboot. I want Dos/98 SE/XP Pro.

    Thanks

DOS & Win98?! You certainly won't be able to find drivers for Win98. I'm not sure if DOS knows what a driver is.

I guess you can try to run FreeDOS. But why not just use DOSbox instead?

You could also use MS virtual PC 2007. It's Free, and it works with DOS and Win98. I installed win98 SE on it to test. it worked fine.

but if you use windows98 by virtual pc keep in mind it will use some extra memory of your notebook. And gaming in virtualpc is almost not possible (only old games are playable).

DOS and 98-SE are really hard to get on new equipment and to function. DOS's bootloader might not work with XP, if it even knows how to configure a new one you'd have to do that manually. Mabe XP's bootloader might work but probably you'd have to use GRUB. 98-SE Lithus is right, No Drivers.
Eather use VMWare (Direct control over hardware not given) or M$ Virtual PC 2007 where Direct control over hardware is given. VMWare is more secure but VPC 07 has it's benefits at times too.

    Edit:
Also with the requirements for DOS a Virtual Box would work fine. Give it like 16mb virtual RAM and what 200mb HDD space. Unless you want to play some game then your mostly out of luck as it'll be a pain to get GFX drivers and all that for the newer drivers. XP drivers might work but I would not count on it without some work and trashing the install a few times trying to find a way to get it to somehow work if even possible.

If that's true, then which games? The vast majority can be made to work in XP.
