I saw the max scores posted from a link on another website and it said the max for the 8600 was 73** something. and yah...I beat that by almost a thousand with 8343 and yes thats with my mac book pro running media center ed. 2005.

If anyone wants to know how it runs some games well here it is.

    I play F.E.A.R. 1024x768 MAX : MAX quality - 30FPS lowest 99FPS highest
BF2142: 1280x960 All maxed out settings 60-110 FPS

thats just a couple I'll be testing more when I get time.

yeah. If I scored that in 3dmark 06. I'd be one happy camper. I don't know if you know anything about Crysis. I have a feeling that that game is going to run better than anticipated on the 8600M's. I scored 700 less pts in 3d mark 05 than my friend with a 7950GT(desktop). He's also running a dual core 2.0ghz processor with 2gb of RAM. I'm excited for some sort of beta to come out.

well. the 8 series has a better 3dmark score / gaming performance than the 7 series (so far)

but its possible that upcoming games would make that match up if they target the 8 series cards a little more.

also, your processor is probably faster than your friends and that matters a LOT for 3dmark and not so much for gaming.

still- i have a hunch the game will run better than the general consensus says.
