Today I finally got a T-8 bit for removing my graphics card to put a little AS5 in there, but now that I've got the card out, what now?

I can't seem to seperate the card from the heatsink, am I missing something?

It sounds as if they glued the heatsink to the card. Be very careful, you can break things and make it unusable. I've heard of some people prying heatsinks like that off very, very gently, but I'd recommend against it.

    Can you post any pix?

FYI, there's normally a "macro mode" button or setting on your digital camera to let it take close-ups like that and make them sharp. Usually looks like a little tulip icon or something.

But those screws on the top of the heat sink look like they probably want to come off, if I'm interpreting the picture correctly (the 4 of them around the end of the copper heat pipe.

    Thanks for the info.
Anyway, no, those four screws pass right through the card and fix into the RAM heat spreader. They don't attach the main heatsink to the card. I think glue/thermal epoxy is probably used.

I know I read a thread about this somewhere, if I could only remember where...

Just a question: are you upgrading your GFX here? That looks pretty awesome. Will you please post what your 3dmark scores will be with the new GFX?

    Charlie :)
