My Black Ops Review

Call of Duty: Black Ops: After playing it for about a couple months now, I just can't seem to go back to Modern Warfare 2 by Infinity Ward which I played for about a couple years so far.

What's unfortunate is that the Call of Duty series is getting too repetitive. There is never anything so outstanding, so wow, that it just got so boring to play. It mostly is extremely fun when playing with friends.

I'm glad they brought back the Zombies mode because it's a lot of fun. My friends and I always get a good laugh from it. If I play by myself, I always end up dying before even entering the elevator or opening the fourth door.

When the game came out, there were many problems such as lag. People just quit playing the game right away because of that. It didn't matter whether it was played on the PC, Xbox, or Playstation, it still had lag. So far, with every patch there is another major problem.

I wasn't sure if that lag was related to latency or graphics stutter. Today, it seems that the game is well optimized in terms of graphics. It's as smooth as a baby's bottom. I haven't played it on a PC yet but there were problems with ATI and so on with "rainbow" colored models. Indeed, it was caused by the last patch; however, let's go back to the beginning.

The graphics were really slow, running around like 15 FPS for some people even with extremely good specifications. Fortunately, the recent patches have fixed this and helped the game raise it's average FPS up to the 60s and more!

The COD series is still not that big on the eSports community as Battlefield is. I just don't know why. Maybe it's because they're missing the real flycam? Is it because most of the people playing COD are playing on consoles or is it just because the game is unforgiving and repetitive? The series is still extremely popular anyway.

Is it worth it? I would say yes, but it depends on what you really are expecting from the new game in the series.

I am curious to how Black Ops is running today. What major bugs are existent at the moment? How are the graphics? What do you think?

 

For the PC, gameplay is getting better each patch. I was in some game and some random guy goes: wow is this game smooth, wonder if they patched it (They did the night before).

I love the gameplay and fixed mechanics... much better than MW2 imo
