Playing through FF7 on ePSXe and I thought I'd share some pictures here and there as I beat the game.
Also, when I come across the difficult WEAPONS I will post a video of me owning them!
P.S: The last picture is a little hint about zoophilia/bestiality. Interesting.

Yar, that was the last final fantasy game I really loved.
Sony should had square remake that for hte ps3. Then we would have actually seen the ps3's selling. -
I'm playing Final Fantasy VI Advance on my GBA right now!
I love FFVI!
-
i got the pc version as shown on my acers desktop. now wheres my real life tifa.
-
Did you get all your stats up to 255 on all your characters yet?
-
There's no need to get 255 IMO although I've done it for my 3 main characters the 2nd time I played FF7: Cloud, Yuffie, Cid.
I've beaten the WEAPONS at level 38 for my 3 main characters. -
lol, I had my characters over lvl 60 on the first CD once..
-
Although I can't claim this personally, a mate of mine has got Cloud's 2nd highest limit break, Finishing Touch, in the train graveyard. I think that's an achievement to be proud of.
I'm currently starting the game again on my PSP. -

Aeris dies!

Does anyone know of a program I might be able to use to record the battle scenes with Emerald Weapon and Ruby? Something free w/ no record time limitations.
-
FRAPS. You can get the free version on the website (but it does have a time limit on it).
You need to register your version to get the full one (cost 37$) or I'm sure there are other ways to get the full version...
Or have a look at GameCam, I think it's free.
Here's a list of softwares you can look at. -
Ah... Final Fantasy VII... my all-time favorite game. Cloud, Tifa and Vincent simply rock.
Ahem.. Yeah, i've got both the psx and pc version of FF7 and FF8. I'll be posting some screenshots later today when I get home, I just started a new game this week. I was just taking Aeris back to her house in the Sector 7 slums...
About ePSXe... how does it emulates it ? the text seems a little bit screwed. Im just wondering cuz I was trying to play Chrono Cross with it (I have an ati radeon X1600) and the frameskip doesnt seems to be working, the game plays at high speed and normally i wouldnt care about that but that messes up the music as well ! Im using "PSX" emulator (yeah, psx is the emulators name) and it all runs great. Only problem is ... it doesn't have any antialiasing... and man... to see your characters so "pixelated" these days... takes away your will to play lol.
Anyway! Im posting my FFVII screenshots once i get home, you'll be amazed.. (at least I was!) -
I enjoyed Final Fantasy VII but I think it's way overrated.
I'm more of a SNES RPG fan I suppose. I prefer Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI. -
Well... Chrono Trigger is my fav. SNES game. It's a great RPG... FF series on SNES didnt call my attention at all.
-
I prefer all the SNES FF games over the other ones (not counting Tactics).
I love IV, V and VI. -
Ah, Tactics! it's got the best story in my opinion, but tactics advance was a big dissapointment...
I did play the one with Cecil and the one with Terra and Locke, they both had AWESOME battle theme bgms... lol but for some reason... i didn't find em entertaining enough... you're making me feel like playing those again though, lol. FFIV and VI right? -
I agree.
The gameplay and story of tactics is amazing. I really do love that game.
FFTA wasn't what I wanted it to be. I really got annoyed by the judge during battles. -
Heh --- I actually really liked FFTA.
I think my favorite FF was FFIX. I am a level 9 zen master at Chocobo Hot-and-Cold. -
I thought the story of FFTA was pretty bad. Nothing even close to being as good as FFT.
That's not too bad though if I can enjoy the gameplay of the game it's still good... the problem is the judge in battle really got on my nerves. I hated it! I don't know why they put that in the game but I hated it! -
I really love playing this game. I'm playing it again, this time on my pda.
-
How do playstation emulators work? I've only ever worked my way up to N64 and those still used roms. If it's just a matter of installing some random driver and installing an emulator then plugging in the original CD's I'd play FFVII again. Just beat it again on PC a few months back but the PC version is so filled with bugs it was a trial to get the game running correctly.
EDIT: For my money the most engrossing Final Fantasy game was 7 just because of how different it was for it's time. I loved the late SNES ones and still play them on emulators every once in a while. FF10 was great and I played it to the point where I couldn't do anything else but I'm not sure how much of a "final fantasy" feel it had. It was a great game in it's own right but I had to sort of forget it was called Final Fantasy to enjoy it.
Tactics, out of all of them, was my favorite. I picked it up cheap at a Blockbuster before they re-released it and didn't put it down for a looonnggg time. I loved the gameplay, I loved the story, I loved all the random stuff you could do apart from the main storyline, the job system, and even the graphics weren't half bad. -
Well Playstation emulators are a little different than n64 ones cuz, as you said, n64 still uses roms wich are taken from the game cartridge. Playstation games, while being CDs cant be turned into "roms" but into image files called "ISO". You can easly turn any CD into a big file (ISO) with a converting program such as WinISO, that way you can keep the game on your computer and won't have to insert the game cd everytime you want to play the game with the emulator. I personally prefer PSX emulators over n64 as i havent had much luck with them (NEVER got to emulate Pefect Dark decently!). PSX Emulators usually emulate games perfectly. (i.e. FF7,FF8,FFT) I am currently playing FFT and Chrono Cross and they both run great. Sometimes better (if not always) than the PSX itself. Besides, you don't have to buy any memorycard and i've got this "super joy box" wich lets me connect 2 psx controllers into one of my USB ports. So yeah.
About FFT... my first impression was "holy crap... this game sucks but lets play it alittle... i mean its FINAL FANTASY after all" As I got out of the Orbonne monastery... I was even more dissapointed to see that you wouldnt "merge into the battle" but rather stay there with the same graphics walking but not moving anywhere (lol). But after awhile I began to like it, and now i can tell you its awesome and its got my fav. final fantasy story. -
yuccck. Now I'm on CD2 at the worst part of the game IMO -- right after you get the high wind.
It's the time when I have to breed those stupid yellow birds -- buy $1million gil worth of special greens, steal special nuts for breeding, and getting Knights of the Round summon materia. All-and-all about 10-12 hours worth of work along with racing the birds to S class...
I'm NOT looking foreward to this. -
I act like a bit of a levelling nut when I play Final Fantasy, well any rpg's. Still haven't started 12 yet though might do that tonight
-
A few more pictures before I spend hours breeding birds trying to get KOTR materia.

I've never gotten KOTR or a gold chocobo, never knew how =/
i really want to play the new ones but i dont have a ps2. -
-
I had the most fun in that random underground submarine. I was like 'what is this' the first time. Then when the TURKS showed up I got so confused
-
Haha thats cool. I really enjoyed the part on wich they show you (at the highwind meeting room) Cloud was actually one of those little blue soldiers and that he never made it to soldier first class... wow... now that was exciting.
-
In my original PS1 FF7 game I maxed out the clock and did almost everything in the game or at least everything I could figure out. Got all the materia, every ultimate weapon, every final limit break (even if not all my characters could use them yet), beat all the weapons, and then rampaged through the final dungeon and killed the last boss in three moves.
On the PC game I started last year I missed a single materia and quit when I figured out I couldn't get it after that point... I was still at a point where I could have beaten the game and I had Knights but no Omnislash, had just picked up W Summon. -
Alright people here are the Screenshots I mentioned earlier today.
-
-
Actually I got the Knight of the Round and Gold Chocobo in less than 3 hour when playing on ePSX.
Its called, " Limit FPS" toggle. So your chocobo races take less than 30 secs. LOL.
Love emulators for their FPS control and State Saves. -
I finally got off my tush and set up the emulator so now I just have to get it working... At the rate I usually move when trying to make software run correctly I should be playing FF7 by...next thursday.
I put in Star Ocean hoping for it to work on the first try but the intro movie was running at what felt like 8x normal speed so apparently some setting is messed up.
EDIT: nm, cd plugin was misconfigured. I'm not as stupid as I believe I am. -
PS: In any PS1 game, you go to the 300 fps setting if you want to train and mash enter. I forgot how to access it off hand, but its more of fooling with the same settings. -
RedSensiStar where can i get this game im a ff fan but i never played this one only 1,2,4,5,10, and 12.. Is it a disc or iso/rom..

I love Final Fantasy VII, but don't call me a fanboy
.
-
I use the emulator called "PSX" wich is a pain to talk about cuz of its name lol. It runs perfectly but it doesnt have any antialiasing or 2xSai engine available. The reason why i don't use ePSXe is because the framelimiter wont work, my games play usually at 2x speed and the sound screws up. -
Putting FF7 on HOLD for a bit. Spent 4 hours trying to get a black chocobo w/o racing him.
It really does help to race them to S class -- and I can't do 120 FPS because I have no control it seems -- everyone will always beat me.
I might just ditch FF7 for now, I mean c'mon, this is probably my 30th playtime.
Getting a freaking gold chocobo is more difficult than beating any enemy in this game IMO...
Not sure if its worth it anymore...Maybe I'll load FF8 as I've only beaten it twice. -
Dear god how can you play that game so much...
Buy FFVI and V Advance for the GBA and play those! I'm loving every second of it! Almost done FFVI A! -
Where can i get ff7? im familiar with roms have a boatload on my pc/ psp but ive never gone above handheld, snes, genesis and mame.. are you using a ps1 emulator? if so which one and can you give me a link to the game if thats allowed on this site? thanks. -
Business, you need to download ePSXe (I believe that's what I used) and various plugins to get it to work. Then you plop in your playstation cd or copy to play. I don't know if you can download the games anywhere, I haven't checked since I already own the CD's, but you'd probably need to torrent and image or something like that. As usual, I don't know the legality of downloading an image of the game and playing off of that with playstation but that's what you'd have to do.
-
you have to use the actual playstation disc to emulate it or make an image (iso) file out of it but you still need the playstation disc.
And again, you have to own the original game otherwise its illegal. -
oh man the only thing i could never figure out was the 1/35th soldier. i mean what was with that? i could only ever find like 4 or 5
-
same here. What were those for anyway ?
-
Best Foot Forward Notebook Evangelist
Absolutely nothing. The same with Tissues, those Sephiroth models and all the other miscellaneous stuff. Maybe they were put there to confuse people like you
-
Yeah, I once heard rumors about being able to get sephiroth on your party if you found all the 1/35 soldiers + some masamune or mursame or muramasa i dunno. Pure rubbish
