    Hello everyone, :hi2:

Last year I bought a Samsung Series 7 Chronos (NP780Z5E-S01UB) from Best Buy. It has an Intel i7 3635QM CPU, a AMD Radeon HD8600/8700M 1GB GPU and 8GB RAM Original OS Windows 8 I updated to 8.1. I normaly use it for work and have never had a problem with it, until now. I recently decided to play The Witcher 2 and was hoping to play it on modarate to high quality graphics, but it results I can only play it on Los Specs without it lagging to a crawl  I have looked in various forums and some say it is an issue with Windows 8 already upgraded to 8.1, others suggest to deactivate Silent Mode I checked that and its off, download the more recent drivers I downloaded the last AMD Catalist Control Center 14.4 and the Software Update Hub from my laptop says I have the lastest bios and graphic update. Even so the games seems not to use the dedicated GPU   . I have even gone to my devices and deactivated the integrated GPU and tryed the game and it resulted one time on inmidiate crash and the next time the game ran as slow as slow can be. I have also tryed other games (Civilization V, Star Craft 2, Diablo 3, Path of Exile) and all of them recomend me to use the lowest specs.

If someone knows anything about how to solve it please help me.

    Thanks in advance :)

    hi
i have no idea about amd/ati cards but there should be somewhere in the amd control panel to force the game exe to use the dedicated card.

also when was the last time you cleaned the vents and fans out with compressed air as temperatures can rise rapidly and then downclock to protect the hardware.

download from my sig below core temps, hw info and even hwinfo64 and see what sort of temps you are getting as 90c and above will cause downclocking.
