Grats, thats pwnage mate, just one thing.. why in hell all laptop vendors state that Video Memory Stack up?... this can be confusing to some people :D
and as you see.. 8gb of ram will be useless for you, 4gb will be just great, if you are still confused about the gains you will be noticing in SLI VS no SLI, check the link in my sig.

Nice system! Great specs. Must have put a hurt on the wallet though. :D

If they sell it with SLI then the heat must be bearable, a big machine like probably has a pretty good cooling system anyways. Of course it would not hurt to invest in a good cooling pad for it.

well.. not quite.. since it has a Desktop CPU,if it starts to heat in future, that will be bad voodoo, because desktop CPUs need to keep cool, like below 72, with your Rig, i can say you will be hovering around 68 to 70 with SLI, so if dust starts to grow in your system, then bad things will happen.

Change the RAM from 8GB to 4GB and save $800. You can always upgrade the RAM to 8GB yourself when 4GB ram sticks go down to reasonable prices (~$100 each). You don't need Blu-Ray. It will make you wait for extra weeks until it gets back ordered. Use the extra money to upgrade the CPU to the Q9650.

Anyways, it's going to be a beast.

I second or third the downgrade of ram. There is no feasable reason to have 8GB of ram, save your $800 and go down to 4.

Also that is a very cool laptop, for what is in it anyways. I wouldnt worry about heat too much with it.

The D901C is a DTR, with 4 fans.
    Heat IS NOT an issue.
Power to the max, oh yeah.
Although...a bit too overkill on the wallet, but hey, it's your wallet :)

4GB should do you fine :) use the money to upgrade to a quad, that would help the performance much better.
If you don't care about getting the most bleeding edge components, get 9800M GT in SLi will be a better choice for performance/price. The gain between the 2 isn't much.

Just remember that Fn+1 enables the fans at full blast. Do that before gaming. Hopefully I will be able to upgrade my graphics card sometime next year...
