Maybe Halo is more CPU reliant than Crysis? I know when I play Battle for Middle Earth II for example my GPU temp goes beserk but my processor sits at a leisurely 50%. A more 'balanced' game would make my system run hotter (maxing both CPU and GPU).

On my desktop, my GPU is at 99% load when I'm at the WoW login screen. However, when I'm actually playing, it's around 50%. Explain that :p

As i can tell from my ASUS G1S, it runs hotter when games demand more GPU performance than CPU performance. Thats because the G1S has only 1 fan for both, and this fan is CPU temperature controlled.

This means, when the CPU gets hotter, the fan kicks in and cools the whole system down.

I hate to say it but "computer gets hotter playing Halo than playing Crysis" sounds pretty descriptive to me!

I wish there was a way to trick the CPU fan into going hi-speed dependent on either the CPU or the GPU instead of just the CPU.
