    ============================================================
    ============================================================

    This config is only for people that want to go above very high,
    with smooth & consistent frame rates...

    Minimum specs is a 8800GT & a very fast cpu.

    *** Features ***
    -----------------
    * Added lite version for slower specs.

    * Increased lod distances on terrain, vegetation, sprites & shadows.

    * Increased water reflections distance and quality & tweaked the update
    distances.

    * Increase battle dust range in meters.

    * Tweaked shadows & ssAO varibles for best visual lighting.

    * Solved many artifacts with lod & shadows with vanilla settings.
    (ie; screen flickering, terrain, water, and shadows updating)

    * Optimize particles & physics.

    * Added "sys_spec_Full=4" to force all other cmds to veryhigh.

    * Better detailed mountains and surface terrain.

    * Better shadows & post processing effects.

    * Better HDR effects over vanilla default settings.

    * Better water reflections and update distances.
    ===============================================

    *** Tweaks ***
    ----------------
    If you have trouble running the config try the following tweaks...

    These tweaks should give about 5-fps gain or more especially near water.

    "r_WaterReflectionsMinVisiblePixelsUpdate=3" change to 0.05

    "r_WaterUpdateDistance=-1" change to 0.2

    "e_view_dist_ratio=100" lower this value like 50

    "e_shadows_cast_view_dist_ratio=0.7" lower this to like 0.5

    *** Please ensure that your playing in fullscreen mode, as performance
    can be cut in half by playing crysis in a window mode.

    *** Always defrag after installing crysis and other large programs.

    *** Make sure to use the latest drivers for your hardware.
    =========================================================

    *** Note ***
    -------------
    Before playing online with this autoexec, you must first change the cmd-
    "e_detail_materials_view_dist_xy=4096" to 2048, to avoid punkbuster kick.
    ________________________________________________________________________
    ________________________________________________________________________

    **Installation for vista**

    1.) Extract .rar file with winrar/winzip.

    2.) Place the "autoexec.cfg" file into your; "\Program Files\Electronic
    Arts/Crytek/Crysis/Game" folder.

    3.) When inside game hit ~ key if you see my art it loaded successfully.
    _______________________________________________________________________
    _______________________________________________________________________

    **Installation for xp**

    1.) Extract .rar file with winrar/winzip.

    2.) Replace the "CVarGroups" folder into your; \Program Files
    \Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Game\Config folder" (backup the
    original),fyi there is a copy of it on your crysis disc.

    3.) Go inside game and set all graphics to high, and exit game.

    *I think "sys_spec_Full=3" command will already do this for you,
    I've not tested it on xp though.

    4.) Place the "autoexec.cfg" file into your; "\Program Files\Electronic
    Arts/Crytek/Crysis/Game" folder.
    =======================================================================

    If you use my config in a mod please credit me, thanks.

    I like to thank Crytek for making this awesome game.

    Special thanks to Koroush Ghazi over at tweakguides & to MADBoris for
    his guide on the cvars...

    Yeah, the ultra-high settings look really nice in Crysis. But like you - I can't get decent enough frame-rates on my 5793 to play at that level. It's passable at High settings, though - which still looks pretty good.

    The way you have Crysis setup, gosh, that's just amazing! I can see why it pushes GPU's to the limit! It's worth it, though. :D

    I may even try it one day, with some minor OCing,

    Yep, couldn`t find a 9262 for 2000$, but found a Dell.
    And so far, every game plays awesomely at high details and WUXGA, including Crysis.
    I was thinking about OCing, since I play it at 1280x800, all Very High to get good framerates.
    Since others OCed theirs,and mine stays pretty cool 65-70C in Crysis, there`s room for more.

    Thanks man,

    Crysis is a really enjoyable game when you can play with all the eye candy on. I made this config for people that can play veryhigh with no trouble. This autoexec will take it a step futher, but I also optimized the settings without losing any visuals :)

    I can play 1920x1080 all high, and I put object detail on vhigh with 35fps average in the bench....

    I wonder if i can run your config.

    Only thing I didnt like is that some of the palms and stuff look kinda plasticy with too much reflection.

    edit: did a vhigh vanilla run @ your resolution...

    Dont think that cuts it. Thing is I see no difference from vhigh & high really so wonder if it can be tweaked more. Also if you make a DX9 version of this then I bet I could run it.

    I'll be releasing v 1.2 final today, I have included a lite version for slower system that looks just as good as the normal version except without the increased water reflections and view distances.

    I tried that mod today that lets you play veryhigh on DX9.

    I figured if I get 37fps all high DX10 and 47fps all high DX9

    That the same would hold true on very high.

    DX10 = 22 DX9... did not = 32 tho I still only got like 25fps average.

    I have to see if its playable tho because the min framerate didnt go down it was just that the max frame rate went way down so it may actually play good.

    If its not, I'll just start hand picking some of the changes I made to make them go back from vhigh to high untill I hit 30fps average.

    Hi Vicious, I have the tweaks in the readme's, this is what you should try mate.

    These tweaks should give about 5-fps gain or more especially near water.

    "r_WaterReflectionsMinVisiblePixelsUpdate=3" change to 0.05

    "r_WaterUpdateDistance=-1" change to 0.2

    "e_view_dist_ratio=100" lower this value like 50

    "e_shadows_cast_view_dist_ratio=0.7" lower this to like 0.5

    You want even notice much a diff in the water, you may even prefer the look.
    Let me know how it turns out.

    What is wrong with me ... I thought the graphics on HL2 were still good ... but they look like N64 graphics compared to this game. Nice.

    Just think 10 years ago people thought doom original had great graphics. Imagine what it might be like 2020!
