    My friends laptop is acting up when

    playing games and watching videos.
    His laptop uses a nvidia quadro nvs 140m and has 2 gigs ram and vista. The symptoms are as follows. When he runs a video or video the screen starts showing off these distorted white graphics as if the video card is displaying the colers wrong. Its white grainy staticky etc. Very wierd and only happens when he runs a game or video. What can he do to fix it?

    Well, it might be the video drivers. Try finding the newest ones from Laptopvideo2go

    what drivers should he install on his laptop? How do i know those drivers aere supproted? I chacked there ealeir but i didnt see nvidia quadro nvs 140m supported.

    The video card sounds like its displaying artifacts. Does the laptop seem to be getting abnormally hot?

    Test for artifacts with ATItool.

    Also make sure you monitor your temps since high temps cause problems(see this thread for a guide on how to monitor temps).

    Also make sure you laptop vents are clear(no/little dust) and that the vents are not blocked. Look at the cooling guide for more info/suggestions.
