I install Far Cry on my laptop, and on auto detect setup tells me my system requires 'Medium' game settings.
On my desktop I do the same and get 'Very High' settings.
My desktop system is: Athlon64 3200 - 1Gb RAM - X800GTO².
My laptop is:Core DuoT2500 - 1Gb RAM - 7900GS Go.
What gives?
I thought perhaps it was the Speedstep lowering my laptop CPU speed. Is there a way to force your CPU to constantly run at it's full speed?

Far Cry probably does not recognize your video card, so that is why it auto-detects Medium. It did the same thing on the review machine I have with similar specs.

OK, thanks for the reply.
I haven't been gaming for a while. The latest game I have is the FEAR demo. I'll install it tonight and see how I get on. -
As Chaz said, worry not: Far Cry recognized the notebook in my signature as "Medium" too.
