Call of Duty 4 won't run on the X3100 even enough to play it.

It will launch. You will see the menu. But you won't get more than 15FPS with the lowest settings.

I just feel bad you wasted money on CoD4, because I'm sure the X3100 was marketed as a "Gaming" GPU...

Apparently not KGann, because i checked the videos of COD4 running on an x3100 and on medium it runs decent almost smooth if not highest performance and i got Core 2 duo 2.1 which is way above COD4's requirements. I managed to download the driver from Hp site as suggested by Times and my COD4 worked, thing is however when it starts loading on Single PLayer when i select New Game. It says DirectX error and gets stuck without loading. Anybody can help?

Well, try updating to the latest drivers from the Intel website. Be sure to uninstall your current drivers and reboot first.

Not that I see much hope for your experience - the fastest processor in the world won't make a lick of difference with that miserable GPU. I've seen videos of the GMA X3100 running CoD4 on YouTube...if you think that's "smooth" more power to you, but I'd get sick trying to play a game like that.

Don't ever, ever trust "Youtube" videos. Trust experience. There is a 60+ page thread on the X3100, and the best performance in CoD4 so far was 640x480, all low, with around 19FPS with no action. And this was with a massive Config tweak.

I still stand by my point, and like I always say when people whine that I am wrong, when you show me some screen shots of it playing fluently, with action, I will officially + Rep you, and apologize for my blatant ignorance.

Lol kGann, im getting a GeForce 8800 Gtx for my desktop this Aug, but since my pc isnt upgraded yet i wanted to try on laptop and finish COD4 and some other games, because i got a games wish list which will start as of Sep, by then I'd Inshallah have my graphics card anyway. But i found YouTube video's display of playable measure so i wouldnt mind if it helps cross the game, but i reinstalled Directx 9.0c and got the latest driver from Hp site for the laptop, still same Directx error. The game opens, video shows, i press New Game and it never loads.

Good to hear about the desktop, but I still standby my word on the X3100.

    Great card for desktop/basic functions.

    Horrible card for gaming.

Has a desktop X3100, which is a little different than the notebook X3100, as stated in the "X3100 Thread".

I'm not trying to be a douche, but after you visit this site for song long, you get tired of people arguing about the capabilities of this card. If someone shows me some substantial screenshots of it running on the X3100, in action, with a solid framerate, I will formally apologize for my ignorance.

I just found how its funny that you want screen shots of it in action to prove smooth frame rate. If I took a frame shot with the crappiest computer out there that can run windoze it will still look like one from a maxed out supercomputer.

well, i'll post some screenies ASAP. its 3 at morning in here :p / i have a friend with a desktop GMA so it'll be a fair comparison between the 2 (except for the Vaio having a 1.4 ghz dual core and the desktop having an E8400)

I never said I want a screen shot with everything on high. Just a screen shot.

It's not a big deal, and I'm not out to dislodge the X3100 from the world. Just tired of everyone arguing about it's capabilities, without anything but some random "YouTube" video to back it up.

    Am I a martyr?

*EDIT* Brainer- That would be cool, it should be close, but I still think the X3100 needs some screen shots, from people who own laptops with X3100's in them. The only ones I found in the X3100 thread were of a guy staring at a wall get 25FPS. Yippie.

Cool, and hopefully some X3100 user can get it to work on notebooks. Trust me, I would love to see it run, it would show some great improvement in the IGP world, which is what we need!

Brainer, I think you get the idea I am arguing. I'm sure it runs, but I have doubts it is playable. I am not trying to argue, and if you get it run well, we need to make sure we post it in the X3100 thread, as it would be fantastic for the IGP users!
