The idea behind NBD is to be a centralized directory of notebook benchmarks, something like hwbot or futuremark orb but for notebooks.
This idea was born in the M17x's benchmark thread when people start talking about how benchmark topics never really worked due the fact that the results get lost in big threads and it gets really hard to make any compare.
This is just an alpha and i have some almost done features that will be added soon as possible (my free time is short right now) but considering that some guys in aw forum are pretty anxious about this (mandrake...) i decided to get the core working and online.
I don't wrote much more than 15 lines of CSS/HTML so the design is really simple (while it do the job) but i will improve it overtime (well... I will try at least... I'm a programmer not a designer) and add javascript and ajax.
If you guys have any problem or find any bug (i didn't a much extensive test TBH) just post in this topic or pm me and i will fix it. If you want to upload a result for a notebook that isn't in the system just post here and i will add it (only 1920x1080 and 1440x900... I will add more resolutions when the system became more mature).
And BTW... Before anyone asks... I didn't added 3DMark06 due the fact that it isn't really a good benchmark those days but if you guys want i can add it.
Constructive criticism and feedback is always welcome and i really expect that this site can be useful for you guys.

Looks good, but it might be an idea to separate out the benchmark from the resolution and hold them as two different fields - that way, as more games and benchmarks get added people wont need to scroll all the way through them all.
Also, what do you think about adding another field which indicates the graphics settings, just something basic like high, medium, low? -
nice job BIGX. A couple of minor details I noticed while registering. Put some kind of text in saying you must complete registration by clicking on the link in your email. Also you should add some type of password recovery mechanism.
-
For Vantage you might want to 2 fields for score. The total score and the GPU score. It seems like the GPU score is what a lot of people want to know.
Edit: I really do like this. As it keeps developing it could become really popular. -
, I will be implementing it soon.
I did some "standards" since i think that having it standardized make easier to people compare (when you read 12k vantage you know that it's high and that's my point here) but if you guys prefer more options i can add it.
. I already coded a password recovery i just forget to add a link to it LOL
-
Is this just for the 5 or 6 laptops you listed, or is there a way to add one?
-
NBR actually has a team on www.hwbot.org .... one of the largest databases for almost all benchmarking results.
but good work. -
don't ruin his job
Good job BIG
to bad it empty -
and i think is pretty obvious that it don't worked so far
. My idea is to provide a place for synthetic and non-synthetic benchs and where the ranking worth something
-
the main good benchmarks that can span the difference between desktops and notebooks are mainly the CPU benchmarks. -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Yes! I'll be sure to add some benchmarks thanks BIG... anyway Gophn this Benchmark page is pretty much just a community thing for us here, you did a great job Big... Hopefully this can start inspiring some competition!
-
Looks good, put in the M570ETU and I'll give you some benches
EDIT: I would change the screen shot system though. Instead of having seperate uploads for CPU, GPU, etc, just have a single screen shot. It's not hard for someone to to drag the bench results, CPU-Z, GPU-Z, etc and take a pic of it all. Everyone should know about snipping tool by now as well...
Also, I don't think you can run Crysis bench at 1440 x 900. 1280 x 1024 has a very similar pixel count though. -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Yea I got to 11,353... I think what's holding me back at this point is my CPU is bottlenecking my GPU's as same settings on my GPU I was able to jump from 11,100 to 11,353 just by OC my CPU to 2.8ghz... only problem being I don't have a great CPU and I can't get far past 2.9
-
nvm, saw the pic
You're still going to see results from OC'ing the GPU's more. What are your clocks? First try 650/1025/1625. If it's stable, continue in this order:
660/1025/1650
670/1025/1675
680/1025/1700
690/1025/1725
Now when it finally does crash, for example let's say at 680 core, roll back to 670 core and raise the memory by fives. Also, find something to do besides watch Ms. Bond's cleavage bounce -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Yup that's what I'm at right now!!!! that's great stuff lol... wait actually my memory is higher at 1050... but thanks I'll continue to progress
-
I'm doing some modifications in the upload system and i will add the M570 as soon i finish.
About the crysis resolution... It was moo idea blame him!.
BTW i need someone to confirm if it's possible or not to run crysis 1440x900 (i don't have windows in my MBP right now :x ). -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Ok I'll go do that right now
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
1440x900 is indeed possible
-
.
I just modified the upload to only use 2 screenshots and added Clevo M570ETU.
Tomorrow I'm going create another assoc table and separate games from resolutions.
bye i need to sleep -
Isn't the D900C a bit old for this directory? I'm pretty sure it uses Go 7950GTX cards. Otherwise, great work. I hope this turns out to be a fairly large database and possibly be a more accurate alternative to notebookcheck benchmarks.
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
No their are some D900c's that use 8800's and then 9800's
-
-
Aye I was just about to upload DMC4 1080p and then I noticed you want 8x AA. You should put that in the main title.
-
.
I only need some free time lol. -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Hey I tried to upload my 11.5k score and when I linked my Jpeg Images it said unsupported file type
-
Check the extension and try again, if it still telling that let me know -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
I'm using .jpg files and it still isn't working
-
I tried with JPG and JPEG extension and it worked flawlessly.
Are you sure about the extension ?, send me the files: bigx333 at gmail dot com .
If i can't reproduce the error i can't fix -
-
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Alright I sent them your way... maybe I just missed something. Thanks
-
.
PS: you forget the cpu-z cpu tab in the second ss -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Ohhh LOL do you want me to send the pic or is my word good enough? it was @ 2.8
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Grrrr... What am I doing wrong! It keeps saying file type not permitted
-
I changed one of the validation functions... Try again.
If it still don't working I'm gonna rewrite the entire function. -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
That did it! thanks Big
-
added my DMC4 runs
-
I'm here to help after all
The interesting is that it doesn't bugged here and i just changed an operator and it fixed for you lol.
But I'm going to rewrite the entire class anyway... This class is a re-use of code from a old project and is giving too much problems... I just found that it was adding a p in the beginning of the uploaded files extensions, i fixed it and manually changed every file which was already uploaded.
I changed crysis from 1440x900 to 1280x720 (1024 don't let people with 900p resolution run it) and i will add more resolution options in the next site update (which will be after i rewrite somethings).
I was reading the logs (i log every error) and i think that i fixed every bug and i think the system will be mature enough for new features (at least after i rewrite the upload class) and i already have some nice ideas
.
-
Awesome idea! Also, if you need/want any help with the design, I'd be more than happy to help! I do web design and coding, but my specialty is more on the design side.
Just let me know!
P.S. Also, might it be better to have a separate selection box for the resolution as well? Not sure, just a thought. -
.
BTW if i need help i will let you know.
Yeah I'm doing this in the next update (just need some free time + rewrite some functions). -
Sounds great!
I actually had some free time yesterday, so I was messing around with some ideas:
Any comments/opinions? -
-
Glad you like it! I'm not sure what you mean with the logo though? It's fully anti-aliased. Are you viewing it in a non-native resolution? I'll check it again though, just to make sure.
But anyway, yeah, whenever you're ready, if you need someone to help with the design, just let me know! (I have some other cool ideas for that design as well).
-
liking the design.
Edit: Added my Vantage score. -
I can run some benchmarks on my laptop, but it's getting pretty outdated (ie most components aren't available to purchase new anymore).
-
Any chance to get the M1730 added to the mix?
-
-
bump......
-
-
3 Questions...
1 - You guys want a team system? (something like in HWbot... rank by team, etc)
2 - Any new benchmarks?
3 - 3DMark06? y/n?
