Oops sorry mate
I only saw the specs of your incredible desktop. Of course you can join. Just download 3dmark and a overclocking tool and you are ready to go!

Hotlink for the userbar if anyone else wants it is http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/3862/981163594546hz9.png. -
Thats alot of icons. But it's pretty nice.

It's colourful, which I like! Forums can get a bit dull on the eyes unless some happy soul (me) has loadsof bright, fun userbars advertising interesting things!
-
Thanks. I will see about the manual - did you check my sig?
Cheers,

Hi Charlie:
3227 3dmark05.
I am so busy these days, and I would really like to check my OC skills again. And Charlie you make me doing it! Thanks.
BTW hold alt key while pressing PrintScreen key and it will make a snapshot of the current window only.
Cheers,

Currently got 'the beast' (lol) running at 405MHz, up from the stock 378Mhz (7% overclock, wowee!!!) which seems to handle UT2004 pretty well on Normal settings, with some bits heading towards lower and switched off. I could crank it up to 500MHz + which seems to be stable (i.e. the laptop doesn't crash or anything) but I think the gpu heats up a bit as the laptop can become a bit unresponsive and bogged down when it's left OCed that far for a while.
I'll try running it at various clocks for long periods to see what the effects are. Happily an underclock to 309MHz seems to have no detrimental effetcs on day to day tasks.
Edit: 405MHz (if memory serves) gets something like 524 on 3dmark05. I'd rather not try 3dmark06, I'd get about 2 points!
Edit again: If anyone's interested I'll post settings and fps etc for various games on an overclocked x200m. I can do City of Heroes, Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2, NFS MW, Sims 2, GTA III, VC and SA, Toca Race driver 2, MSFS 2004 and UT2004. -
I should reword this, as I could easily use photoshop...
I suck at making icons. How would I go about doing them, or could someone really good at making them (Like you) do them for me?
I need icons for core 2 duo, alienware, and... I guess that is it?
Oh yes, a half life 2 fan icon. -

Your score is just incredible! You are closing up to Vampire. I wonder what score you would have with a 256 MB X700
Guys we want to see some scores!

Now you are a Deity. I'm going for a beer with my friend and celebrate it in a way. -
Jess_paws - I salute you for yor your work - not many people are successfull in overclocking 200m. And everything you do is remarkable. Man you do what many would say it is impossible.
Good work ronkotus! Everything is there! I like that backgroud effect.
Charlie - my fellow deity! Welcome to the club! Thanks for cheering up. My goal is to get it as fast as possible - not to compete with Vampire or anyone else. Every notebook is a new playground to play on. I am very happy to see that my "optimizations" can make a difference in comparison to the default values, both in speed and temperature. I am saying this because my 3200ish scores come at 62 degrees C!
Cheers,
Ivan -
3236 3dmark05 on ORB. I think it will not go further with 6.10.
And Vampire, I think that shared memory check doesn't mean turning off hypermemory. It doesn't work on my card at all. 3dmark still thinks it is a 256MB card. I guess it may be something with ATT shared memory utilization, not the whole card hypermemory support. I may be wrong on the other hand...

Alright, I ran some 3DMark05:
That's my highest yet, and I still feel that I have some headroom.
Clocks are 425MHz Core/410MHz Memory. -

Guys,
I made another ATI NBR Overclocking Team signature; I used Ivan's signatures, cut it all out, and changed the background color to the exact same as the forums', so it there is no white block going around it. Enjoy.Attached Files:

I've been experimenting with overclocking using ATI Tray Tools (v.*.955). Stock speeds were 445/365, with 3DMark05 score of 4000 barely. I overclocked to 489/441---I got as high as 500+/460 without artifacts, but once I crossed the boundary I experienced blank/black screen and instability so I backed off. Score is now as you see it, 4520. I wish I had a way to see the temp on my GPU though...
EDIT: Due to popular demand, I've shrunk the window down a bit to accommodate for the width of the screen capture. You'll just have to trust me that it's an MR X1600. Also, if someone knows how to bring up a temp for the GPU, pleeeease let me know. -
Cheers,

By the way: do you use your 'integrated' overclocking function when benching (from 1.86 GHz to 1.96 GHz)? Does that give you a boost in games and benchmarks?
Nice score Chaz! Do you use latency's too? Great to see that people are showing more screenshots!
Programs that you could try: Mobmeter, Speedfan, Notebook Hardware Control and Everest.
Sorry for the long reply but I see that the new 6.11 Catalyst's are out. I am going to download them right away! Let's see if I get a higher score.

Anyone know of a free application that can monitor the temperature of an x200m?
Gonna try some games I think, i'll leave it at 405MHz and see what's playable without turning up the heat. First up, Battlefield 2! -
Hey thanks guys. So far I've tried NHC, Mobmeter, and Speedfan to no avail on the GPU Temp. Will try Everest.
-
These drivers dont seem friendly at all to my overclocking. I locked up at 400/790 :-/
-
I'm about ready to overclock my ati x1800...
It has a core clock of 450 mhz... And a memory clock of 500...
What should I up them too? I'm not a overclocking noob, just a laptop overclocking noob... -
This is my current 3dmark05. I'll post my new one later on.
-
It says fan wasn't found as hardware for my x1800. Is this normal?
-
If your Alienware has same components as my Amilo, I think you should get like 5700 points in 3dMark05. Unless you have less memory or something. My GPU is underclocked by FSC (core 398,mem 468) and I get 5670 points. I haven't had success in overclocking with various of applications because I don't want to revert back to Catalyst 6.3.
You mean 3DMark notifies you that fan is not found? I don't get notified, but I don't see any fan info in the 3DMark System Details either. -
I have Windows XP Media Center. What should I do to overclock?
-
You could try AtiTool, Ati Tray Tools or Powerstrip for overclocking. If your overclocks keep resetting to defaults you propably also need to revert to Catalyst 6.3. Check this thread for more information.

For future screenshot posts, I'm going to ask everyone to either have their image uploaded as an attachment (Post Reply, then below the text box there will be an option for "Manage Attachments"), or have it as a thumbnail if you host from Imageshack or something.
Also, please use Alt + PrintScreen to take only the current window. We don't need to see your whole desktop. -
Guys, I can't seem to overclock my desktop x1900xt either... Its driving me nuts... resets everytime I reset.... please help...

Zellio could you please resize your screenshot, it makes this page look so huge and it is pretty irritating. Thanks.
Guys just one tip for the X700 users: do not use Catalyst 6.11. My 3dmark05 score dropped from 2640 to 2527. Settings are the same, harddisk defragged, WLAN off etc.
I just hate itI thought Vampire had a problem too, he could not overclock to the max anymore. It is clear that these drivers are not optimilazed for the X-series but more the the X1xxx series.

What do you guys use to measure fps? -
Notebook Solutions Company Representative NBR Reviewer
Well 3dmark has his own FPS meter. But for games I use ATI Tray tools. Some games have supported FPS meters: here are the codes:
Unreal Tournament (all series), America's Army: open console and type: stat fps.
Oblivion: open console and typ: tdt
Battlefield: open console and typ: renderer.drawfps 1
That's all I know.
Charlie -
I have always thought it was my WIndows registry problem or something, but no it is an ATI FEATURE!!!!!
Ati really needs to get a grip and make software like a normal people would expect. Imagine CCC!
Good to know!I use ATT OSD - it really shows me what I want to know!
Cheers,

BF2 did not yield good results. I got 14-18fps with all but one low/off and it was very laggy. I didn't try it with the gpu overclocked further, I find the game so infuriating I couldn't be bothered to wait an hour for the bf2 interface to fiddle around with shaders and stuff!

Yeah! Everything set to low or off apart from textures for terrain set to medium, that was default.
-
Charles P. Jefferies Lead Moderator Super Moderator
Jess, try setting your draw distance down in BF2, that should help. I don't remember where the option is exactly.
-
Guys it seems that 6.11 works for me. 3246 3dmark05 again. I think they didn't do anything on the speed level, just some optimisations for x1xx series. And I must try that uninstall option for once. So far so good.

haha. Can i put one of those banners in my sig?
I do some moderate overclocking.
-
I thought it was hypermemory. With it on Futuremark thinks I have like 700 MB of VRAM. When I turned it off I read 256mb. -
