    Hi folks,

Dota seems to almost be taboo here on NBR. Every now and then it pops up in a conversation as an example of how ignorant and not "noob-friendly" the internet is. I find this a shame as its an excellent game and I'm sure there are plenty of people here on the forum that play it.

What I propose is that we form a clan or a play-group in which we focus on improving our skills in the game. Not too die hard, maybe we could play 2 times a week or so, and in this manner try to escape the realm of noobdom! :p Playing with the same people also makes the game a lot more fun, being a team game and all.

Would love to hear some people's thoughts on this.

P.S. And for those who are curious about dota, please give it a try if you own WC3. Its worth a shot!

Newest map at the moment is 6.57b :)

I play it a lot, but very randomly.

For clan gaming its best to setup a separate place for members to gather, like a mIRC channel or so.

Playing wif friends is always fun, but with strangers, you might find ppl yelling you noobs or wat so ever. And tat's normally not fun anymore. If you wanna improve on your dota skill, you can always challenge Insane AI+. IMO, tougher than average dota players.

AI on any level is so predictable. And only in late, late game the AI buys uber items, buts thats too late then lol. Also they dont gang and chase.
The only real advantage AI on insane lvl has, is the xp gain. Ofc you can disable that with -np (normal experience). E.g. -apemnp

AI insane can be beaten quite easily: you only need to take down 2 barracks before they rape yours, and you win.

Not to beat them, to own them (kill them) is the way to go. Depending on the hero, it's sometimes harder to kill than a normal opponent. I wonder if that is -np coz what i remembered is -ne. AI gain extra gold as well, but by playing -ne, you are better off in battlenet. There is a mode that makes AI even tougher, but i have already forgotten the command.
