NBR Guild Wars 2 Clan Name

Starting a new thread on this subject so that I can have power over the first post and help organize things (yes Vikings are organized)

We have decided to create the name from scratch for the guild not try to make up a name that matches with the acronym of NBR (though I am leaving this as an option)

We have lots of time to figure this out so it's not something I am going to just rush and have a final answer by next week.

Everybody who plans to be a part of the NBR Guild has rights to submit names for consideration and voting and be a part of the voting process.

One name at a time, but you may fill out the form more than once. Do not go crazy and submit like 50 names try to narrow it down to between 1 to 3 so think it over hard and long before making your choices.

Keep in mind the Guild Name Standards posted above and how it forms an acronym. [NBR] for example.

This is phase 1 of the process. It will run for ONE WEEK after a week I will close this spreadsheet for further new entries and then I will start phase 2 where I start voting on the best name and I will create new forms for everybody to go vote on and update them here in this thread/post.

Phase 2 will continue until we are left with the winning name.

You guys that have been holding out need to go ahead and put in your names before I close off submission. There is only 2 days left and you do not want to accidentally miss your chance to have your name be the one chosen for the guild.

 

I already put in my reply, will put in more if I can think of any other.

 

Today (next 24 hours) is the last day.

We have 19 entries right now. I am sure many of you have last minute decisions to make but dont miss the deadline.

Next time I have to do a event like this I hope to maybe get together a small donations pool and give the winner a free copy of the game. That would be awesome incentive to cast your name into the lot.

After the next 24 hours the form will be closed and I will start making the voting polls so that we start the "tournament of names" and fight it out till just one name is left for the guild.

 

Just saying, won't this give people an incentive to vote for themselves?

P.S.
Would you kindly delete the one that I put in that had "In" counting for the acronym? Don't delete the other one like it, but just the one with the "In". (if you get the reference, I award you with 1 internets)

 

You can vote for yourself, infact I see no other way around it.

If your name comes up vs another in a vote and you like yours better you should vote on it! Why would I have it so you are forced for the one you like less.

It naturally balances itself out because others will vote for their own names as well, unless they honestly think the name competing is better and then thats great.

If given you feel that somebody will always vote for their own name, it would be counter balanced by both people voting for themselves.

As a bonus the fact that each person would want to vote for there name means I get the highest amount of voting participants as possible, everybody will make sure to tune into the polls and cast their votes. Even without a physical reward like a game or money you will want to vote because if your name wins thats the name of our guild!

The trick is you are forced to vote on every match not just one

Trust me I had this all very well planned from the start.

You are a smart man Vicious, I am glad to have you as an officer for the guild that I am in.

I just don't want everybody to vote for themselves because there's a prize involved, because that would suck. Dunno if that would happen, but there's always a chance.

 

It seems like everyone here is really serious about the guild so I doubt they would just pick their own for no reason. Other people are bound to have come up with better names than what you came up with. I couldn't even think of any names because I am used to the one word names. So I'll vote for the one I like best.

 

i wasnt sure if the second one would be considered rude so meh submitted it anyway ill let u decide..diffrent cultures deem diffrent words acceptable/rude

 

K just closed the form, we had 30 all together.

lol...2 of each, out of 28...was expecting half the names to have one or the other

 

In the original GW it seemed like the more famous guilds were known for the Guild acronym and not so much the name... I think it sticks with people better.

Results are pretty interesting so far.

15 votes and there are mostly 10-5's and 7-8's so some are neck and neck and others are winning but its not a landslide.

Really cool results so far.

Most of these are much more in favor of one name than another. One of them is the opposite that I voted so that was surprising.

One is a direct tie right now (and its with one of my entries as well ) and another is semi close but not tied.

Im enjoying the "tournament of names" and its giving us something GW2 related to do while we wait for the release of the game (or atleast a beta!)

 

It's not worth waiting for Beta. Trust me!
Open beta is more like a demo than a beta. OB will be short and very close to release

Closed beta will be longer. Plague learned a lot from Release threads on GW2Guru
