You guys hold hostage who you must to get me into closed beta then

 

Closed Beta isn't for public, hence closed. If Anet needs people for closed beta, they will ask for people. But act like they won't ask for people because they are only going to ask if they run out of guise. If Anet asks for applications, we will all know because i'll be like ANSKJDFAFGNJDS

 

Yeah you guys better post here the second we hear more. The more of us in the beta, the better.

Ok, tomorrow should be the last day for this current rounds voting session.

If anybody has not voted yet you want to make sure you go and do it as soon as possible before I lock the poll.

 

Apparently they just announced you can join as many guilds in GW2 as you like at a time, so even if you don't end up liking the NBR guild name you can still join and have the opportunity to try out other guilds as well.

I may just have to find another group willing to be proud of a guild tag The Morons. The final rounds names are just too decent for me, I need something more ridiculous and hilarious. Tunnel snakes is just lame for me, I didn't like Fallout 3.

 

Lot's of close calls this round. Ended up with one tie at the end so soon as tie is broken poll is locked and I will post results and work on the next round.

 

So what's the status Gladys...er, um, I mean Vicious

If a name wins that I dont like it wont be the end of the world for me, by far more important than just a name is the people in the guilde, how friendly we are, how organized we are, etc.

 

You all know Notebook Review is gong to win anyway

Wasn't the whole point of this not to use the name Notebook Review as it would be a turn off for new players? The irony would shatter bone xD

 

No, the point was to get the name the most people want and NBR aka Notebook Review is a fair competitor. Obviously if it wins then the most people are wanting to use that name thus its a good name.

If you didn't like it that means your in the minority.

When I joined guilds in the past the name was not important, how good the guild was, was what was important. If somebody didn't join our guild because of our name.. thats a type of player we did not need to join us in the first place. Natural selection at its best.

 

I wouldn't really say that's natural selection. Most people go by looks as a first impressions, which is why dumb hot people tend to breed faster than goofy looking intellectuals.
Even skilled players will be attracted to a guild with a better name first, especially Gaming Elitists.

want the 12 year old kid with a ep een problem joining us because we have a cool name or want a mature gamer looking for a guild that is organized, well run, mature, and active?

any game elitist that joins a guild based on name is not a true elitist. A true person will know the guild most known for being good and join based on the reputation not the name.

however the system is still perfect because if the majority of people feel the name will drag us down, the name wont win the vote. pretty simple really. I do statistics for a living I know how this stuff works

 

Tbh, I think it'd be nice to have the tag read [NBR] and have whatever name is most popular follow it, since you set the tag and name separately. That way we all know what it means and it doesn't look overly ... elitist? I dunno.

 

Well this is coming from the website hosting the guild, so there's sort of a bias. I just think the first impressions of newcomers might be off. When I talked to some people about the guild (using Notebook Review Guild as a name), they had to ask if the guild was for notebook enthusiasts only. I don't want to have a great guild be stunted by a name because of first impressions, then again it's my opinion and it's pretty much worthless

I agree with hakira! I'd rather have a name acronymed as NBR then Notebook Review. Not that I don't like Notebook Review, I just think something awesome like Non-chalant Bunny Rabbits would be fun

 

I'm completely against using NBR acronym with a different name. I've been voting for some names purely on the acronym they spell.

Also last I checked this round was not nearly as active as the others we need everybody that has been voting to make sure they cast a vote.

 

I can close the poll at any time but I really would like to see more votes than what we have.

I think perhaps now that people have had their personal submissions get eliminated they are no longer interested in voting on what is left.

Even if your name or your favorite name is no longer in the running, you should vote for what you feel is currently the best and still in the tournament.

 

Pretty sure i voted, but if i didn't, let me know and i'll do it ASAP.

The game, you mean, Anet seems to have the core of the game done. There is still one profession to be unveiled and they'll probably tweak the engine a good deal once everything is done. I bet they'll try to achieve the same amount of scalability as they did with the first game.

They are taking the blizzard approach though and they'll release it when it's ready. My personal guess is april 2012 to launch it during the 7th anniversary of GW1. In any case we won't see the game released until 2012. And with all the hype they built it's better if they take a little more time to meet expectations.

Just got around to voting and noticed that The Royal Assembly acronym is TRY...wasn't it/shouldn't it be TRA?

 

Very close polls, its not tied but 4 vs 5 on both matches. I would like to see one take a lead if possible so letting polls stay open for a while.

Nope. We are bypassing that and creating the guild directly into Guild Wars 2.

Now there has not really been anything in a while.

 

Yeah this is one of those typical ArenaNet dormant stage. The hype will be back once they start releasing more stuff, especially a date...
