NBR Minecraft Server Numero Dos :)

All you minecrafters, theres a new server available. This server is going to be used for adventure maps and so on. I made this because, while I love vanilla minecraft, its getting a little long in the tooth. So, to hold us over until 1.8, I set this up. I can change the map whenever you like, and will do so very often. I will try to keep it open as much as possible, but my internet can be a little wonky. Without further ado, server IP.

Current Map - 1.8 Random Seed!

Server Specs:
P4 521 HT 2.8GHz
Radeon X300
2GB DDR2 RAM
160GB 7200RPM Sata 3.0GBps

Pretty weak specs, but there wont be more than 5 people on at a time, most likely.

There is no whitelist at the moment, though I may do so later. There really shouldn't be any griefing, since no ones building, so no problem there.

If anyone wants a specific map put on, post below or PM me, I'll put it on there.

With all due respect, the other server gets so little business, does it really make sense to split that traffic even further?

 

Not really trying to split the traffic. Part of the reason there is so little traffic in the first place is that Minecraft, for most, has run a little dry. But, if we have a server for traditional Minecrafting, and for the more adventurous stuff, like dungeons and puzzles, maybe more people will get on the servers. Just my thoughts. You may be right, though.

 

This is not a build server, its maps with puzzles and stuff like that.
People here on NBR are tired of regular Minecraft and are waiting wor Notch & Co to actually release the damn thing instead of wasting time with other lame things.

I also set up a Aztec type pyramid dungeon near spawn on my server, but we already looted it quite badly.
Il reset the map, and keep the current inventory so that the pyramid respawns.
(No buildings will be gone.)

 

Wait till 1.8, then there should be much more traffic. Deagle you should enable 512-block height (if height adjustment will be in the 1.8 patch) then lots of new fun can be had and those who have minecraft will be attracted back.

 

Think of it as an add-on to the main server, kinda. Anyways, once 1.8 comes out, this server may go away, who knows. Maybe I could host the old map for normal builing on it, and Deagle's have the 1.8 awesomeness.

My servers offline (crashed?) and im rebooting it now and also updating it.
Its only a OS update so the actual Minecraft part will be fine. xD

Might be that your IP has changed.

Recommend that you get some sort of solution to track IP change like this.

Since my FiOS modem is set to bridged mode, i got a static IP so i dont need this.
Did lose the third TV port though but that sacrifice was nessesary. xD

 

Ha, I tried to get on your server this morning, and failed. Now I know why. Also, I can still connect to my server... IP I have is 76.180.92.213:25565, connects well. I'll try the IP check, and look into dyndns. Fact is, I can't do a static IP, I've tried before, and my router always crashes.

 

Update:

After the 1.8 leak, I also founf the dev release for 1.8 server software. If you have 1.8 installed, jump on my server!

kev, where are you from? I can't play on Deagle's server because it is based in Europe. Usually too much lag for me. I live in the U.S.

 

The U.S, out in New York. It should work well, I have fast connection.

 

Odd. I usually have no real lag issues with Deagle's server, and I'm in Ohio.

I tried renting a US host a while back and sadly that lagged even more for my US playerbase along with my European friends.

 

I get zero lag on Deagle's server, except for the occasional random timeout.

 

Yeah, I never had any lag issues with DEagleson's server. But this adventure one sounds interesting. Assuming you still will need to make yourself a home, albeit plain Jane, just for security, at least early on, and building armor and weapons.

 

Yeah, the only one with a house on this server is Deagle. Its really not that different, but has a completely different feel.

 

I think I have the lag because I am also on Wifi on my laptop. My home connection is usually great... Anyway, if I have some free time I check this out, have not been able to game much with all my school work.

 

I spend a long time testing out the prerelease of 1.8 and im liking it allot.
Higher consentration of minerals underground, big complex space underground aka abandoned mineshafts and finally now we actually need to farm.

Got myself an island paradise set up so if you can find it your happy to stay there. ^_^

 

I actually like it alot, changes the game completely. once 1.9 comes out, with EXP uses, itll be great.

Hah, maybe we should load this map on Deagle's server for 1.8 when he updates it, and i'll revert to the map currently on deagle's server.

That's because your client is 1.7.3, this server's version is 1.8.0 (pre-release), it's your fault, not the server's.

 

Man, I can't believe I didn't spot that. Just know, once you update to 1.8, you cant get onto Deagle's server unless you downgrade.

On another note, can anyone connect to any servers ATM? I can't seem to, and seen other people report the same.

 

I must not have updated it correctly, I did not know Deagle's was still 1.7.3 I thought it was 1.8. Oops. Ill do that tonight, having fun playing on legendary super hostile map though : D
