I joined. Have just about every Steam game out there, bought TF2 a while ago but still haven't played it yet.

Lost Coast was decent,and Portal First Slice is just a preview of a great game. The rest really lack to me...

me and my friends look to inhouse people for Left4Dead, so if any are interested in playing and have a group of 4 friends that will play, just PM me in steam any time. i'm in the steam group under Levenly.

Its a nice little group, I love to play with you guys now and then but man am I busy these days. Im fighting to get 3 hours of sleep before going to work, playing a game is just not an option for awhile.

Thread is back from the dead since the Steam group is still alive and well. The reason why this thread was closed is because the last post occurred over a year ago and old threads (1 year old from the last post) are automatically closed by the forum software to reduce server load.

Yes the NBR Steam Gaming Group is almost 250 member strong now and still very active.

Do not forget you can add games that are not steam based games to the program to help connect with one another.

I created the Starcraft 2 Database to help add one another in Battle.net but if you like to be on steam you can still add Starcraft 2 as a non-steam game to your steam program for example so that you can chat with your fellow NBR members and know when one another is logged on easily.

Our most popular games right now is Battlefield Bad Company 2, Team Fortress 2 is still holding good ground, and of course Starcraft 2 is up and rising.

Alien Swarm is another honorable mention, it does not have a lot of us playing right now but its 100% free and a pretty good game so if you dont have the $$$ to fork out for one of the other games mentioned be sure to check it out.

I myself am going to be playing Starcraft 2 mostly for the time being. Hope to see you guys online!

Cool, your already added if your in the group though, you show up under the group friends.

People can still add you directly so you show in personal friends though.

I also just released my Mumble server, so be sure to check that out. Steam has a built in chat & voice chat but Mumble is a step above.

I just joined the Steam group. I'm loving the NBR community and glad to see there is a Steam group for the gamers that frequent this site.

 

I'd like to get in on the friends thing as well. My frriends suck, and all play consoles . One day I'll redeem them, but probably not soon.

Edit: Are many folks playing L4D/L4D2? It sounds interesting, and I might pick it up for boxing day if I can get some cash for Christmas, but not sure if too many folks are still playing.

I'm not a huge FPS fan, but the co-op aspect is appealing.

 

L4D is still played by many and is extremely fun when played co op with friends. Definitely pick it up at the next sale.

Gotcha, so it's really more like an expansion than a sequel.

 

Kinda, same old stuff, new maps, new characters, new weapons, new graphics engine.

 

Get L4D2. Valve is already starting to port all the L4D1 maps/campaigns over to L4D2, since 2 is the only version they converted to Steam Play.

 

Well I picked up L4D2 last night. Feel free to drag me into a game, and I'll try not to get us all killed .

 

I could go for a good game of L4D2, its been awhile.

I have not played FPS in a long time though so I am going to be pretty rusty.

L4D2 has pretty good built in voice chat, and its absolutely necessary for this game, but the Mumble server is still higher quality than any built in voice chat so I would recommend using it.

Once I got past my own stupidity and got the achievement for the treasure hunt, I played a bit more and was amazed. I think L4D2 is going to suck up a lot of time.

ever since the previous patch, many people stopped playing because of the game freezing and overall bugginess. i'm lucky since the game never ran poorly on my computer. if anyone ever wants to join the server feel free. i try to be courteous and play whatever gametype the majority of the people want to play in there.

 

I am a BFBC2 guy, just couldnt get into CoD as much.

 

i'd rather play bfbc2, but my friends like COD. i've always preferred the BF series though. BF2 is probably one of the funnest FPS games i've ever played.
