Server is down, since i took the Crucial M4 drive so it can power my Notebook while my Intel drive comes back.
Dont worry, i did backup all data.

Reason for new Terraria map: Moved to TShock & its enforcing server side inventory.

I decided to split the server into two smaller parts.
The first one will be regular Minecraft with Bukkit addons, and will be available on the default port.

The second one will be survival mode, but the map will reset more often when players feel they got no challenge anymore.

RULES:
No griefing, will result in a ban so hard the cosmos will explode.
Dont be a a**hole and ruin something for other players.
The rest should be covered by just using common courtesy.


Server Specs:
Intel Atom 330 1,6 GHz @ 2,1 GHz
4gb of DDR2 memory
5400rpm HDD, that will be replaced with a Samsung SSD Series 470 64gb

To connect you first need to be on the whitelist, or else you will just be denied access.

Here's the deal with /warp...

you can say:
/warp new_spawn
/warp old_spawn
ETC...

it also takes the only match if there's one.

/warp new = /warp new_spawn
/warp vik = /warp Viking_Spleef.

/warp create my_area = lets you make your own warp

Anyway, on the plus side, the broken commands seem to be working again (namely // and /god), since it recognizes that I put them in, but I need my mod access back.

Hows the server working, ignoring the command problem?

According to the stats the server is hovering at 800mb during medium load.
Seems to me that it was a good idea with that extra 1gb. xd

Il look into the issue later but since i reused my permission config from the last server there may be a chance that i got a plugin that refuses to cooperate.

 

Have not played much yet but seems better.

Cant get /who to work to see who is online like I could before, says I do not have permission.

 

Seems like there are some conflicts with CommandBook, MyMCAdmin & Permissions.
I deOP'ed myself and lost access to the same commands.
I will try either getting CommandBook working or replace it.

Will run a test server on my notebook to debug so no downtime on main server unless needed.

To the rest of the playerbase: We need a cool screenshot for the main post.

To go to spawn just use /warp new_spawn

 

I dont have any cool screenshots, we had some good ones of the bridge on the last thread though.

I can kick up some photoshop when I find the time (and get photoshop installed on the new computer again)

I can youtube via fraps as well and do some commentary. speaking of audio when we play why dont we get on the mumble server? I will get that back up asap (it is down right now again since I just rebuilt my computer)

I am working on becoming our engineer (aka redstone expert) since most of you guys know how to build way bigger/cooler things than me I will flex my brain muscles and try to get us things like effective railroad systems.

P.S. anybody have some ingredients for cakes? I need to make a few, you can just toss them in the viking vault (2nd chest in my town on the left just past the blacksmith)

Yea, i think we can take a couple pics from the last thread. I really like the night shots.

When you get some recording, make sure to F1 (hide hud) and F8 (smooth camera acceleration) to make it feel more cinematic .

Also, I've got some sugar cane, and eggs I can lend ya. I know you've got the wheat...and you'll have to milk some cows with your buckets for the milk.

Cake takes a ton of ingredients, lol.

Yes, i did. They've had sky-mods for awhile...but I'm looking forward to above and below worlds together :-D. They really need to have some sort of flight-craft. We've got boats for sea. Carts for land. Now we need either
1)parachutes or
2)gliders

for air travel. This goes along with the simple-machine theme as the other vehicles do. Nothing too complex about a parachute or glider (no engine). Could easily craft a parachute using wool and string (or a glider using wool and sticks).

 

Since a wool Parachute/glider would totally fly... they'd need some sort of synthetic material.

 

lol, the only other viable option is leather or feathers. Either way, they're all animal based materials.

I just got the Mumble server back up and running for all you guys to use.

1.) Download Mumble 1.2.3 - Mumble

2.) Install It

3.) Click this URL to join the server - mumble://nbrchat.servebeer.com/?version=1.2.3

Once you joined be sure to add it to your favorites.

If you prefer to add the server manually;

For address just use nbrchat.servebeer.com
for port use 64738
the title is what ever you want to call it, and user name is what name you want.

Note: My server is password locked so that it does not broadcast as a public server, just PM me for the password.

 

Bah cant get /home to work, says it does not exist.

If I try to set a new one, says player does not exist.

So tried the /warp create command listed earlier in the thread, same deal saying player does not exist.

 

Ugh that sucks, sounds really buggy.

Can't imagine how much buggier it will be when Minecraft v1.6 comes out...still the new SMP features make it sound like the impending bugs will be worth it.

Yay, /spawn and /who works again.
But now homes and warps fail. Argh.
Luckily i always take a backup.

 

We could probably do without /spawn as long as /warp new_spawn works.

Also, is there a way to display the current players in the command feed as opposed to /who command?

I know when you first login, the greeting includes a listing of current players, so could we get the data could posted to the console every few minutes or something?

 

yeah /spawn worked for me and /who worked for me

/home is what did not work, and i was not able to set my own warp point, not sure if I can use an existing warp.

 

/warp new_spawn and /warp old_spawn both do NOT work.

Sorry about the viking door latch. You should have seen my face when the creeper came out of nowhere and blew me clear off the fortress. Luckily there's a /back command you can use to warp to your death location. Unfortunately, there was no such command for my pup :'( RIP.

Currently at work, but once im back il try killing all plugins exept MyHome and MyWarp, then enabling one at a time until i find the damn culprit. >_<
Also a big chance im ditching iConomy for the moment, wait until i get some kind of global shop system in place.

Seems our new host is Windows Server compared to the Linux based one before, but since Minecraft is mostly Java is should not be that big of a problem, right?

Java shouldn't matter cross host. It's the hardware and the bandwidth/ping that helps.

Also, the minecraft engine/netcode is poorly optimized, but 1.6 should be out sooooon!


The only commands that I really enjoy are

/who
/spawn
/back
/home
/cprotect

everything else is just more to remember. Warp commands are nice, but you've got to remember what a place is called (/warp viking_spleef). And it's entirely too long to type in the heat of a creeper chasing.

WE HAVN"T EVEN BUILT A FUNCTIONAL RAIL SYSTEM YET >> relying on warps too much V.V

Doing well without money or iconomy or anything else. A shop would be cool, but it's not needed as we get more traffic (I give surplus willingly, as do others ). It's a nice community with no greifing, or stealing, or stupidity ( though I will say...someone or something burned and cleared the entire forest near my farm/ranch !!).

Also: lava does not burn tree's? We've got a lava fall down the hill near new spawn, but it's not even touching the tree's, lol.

lol. Like i said, less might be more. Also, don't spend too much time racking your brain, because 1.6 is bound to fix things you didnt' now where broken, and break things you didn't know existed .

Once Minecraft 1.6 gets spammed to the playerbase it will take maybe a day until Bukkit supports it.
So im just configuring a barebone setup until then, no extra crap.

Awwwww still down, really wanted to farm some wool with my free time tonight and test some redstone circuits I designed.

I came up with a really neat combo of a NS Nor Latch + 2 Nor Gates to make what I call "Vicious NS Door Latch" it fits together so perfectly that its like it was made for this purpose. Its a really simple circuit that lets you use double doors on delay, with a on/off switch, and have all the wires hidden easy. I have not tested but I think it would also allow for an easy lock system, if not I could put a AND gate between the switches to accomplish this.

Even i lost my powers.
But luckily im gonna get Minecraft 1.6 today and also remove McMyAdmin.
I think thats the one messing with the server.

 

I was able to get on for a few seconds, but then blocks I was mining were reappearing and I eventually disconnected.

 

Man I sure hope working nether won't lag the hell out of the servers.
