So , Finally got around to getting Carbon after beating MostWanted for the who knows which time. It plays pretty well, no glitches, no freezes, just smooth streaming graphics.
Anyways,I was woundering if any of you could help me.
This new NFS game is unlike any other so I'm slightly confuse on what I'm supposed to do to progress. So far,I've won every race I've started, won new parts for my car, won money, and gained territory control. MY question is this:
Is there anything that i should do first? What should I focus on doing to progress through the game the fastest? Are there any tricks to use? and last, the poll question (sort of):
If you can't or don't feel like answering the quesiton's above, at least answer this:
What car did you start out with, and what car do you have now?
-
Better cars to start with (IMHO): Alfa Brera and Mazda RX8.
My current car: Porsche Carrera GT.
There are plenty of tricks and cheats on the web: there are also some programs that allow you to modify your savefiles, increasing, for example, your amount of money. -
Audi R8..
Basically, v8 power car sucks.. unless u really know how to drift them, or else dun take them at all. Aston Martin is a good mid-range car, after that i took the Lambo... it's the fastest car when it's max tuned. -
?? Well I got bored of the game halfway through and just wanted to get it over with and see what happens at the end. You can try this trainer to cheat anyway you like . You can have unlimited NOS, make your opponents fly or just win any race with a single button click
and many more.
I started with a Mazda RX8 and ended with an Aston Martin DB8 which I won from a boss race. -
Yea.. me 2.. EA tends to release a bad game after a good one.. IMO Most Wanted is really nice.. but Carbon.. the boss battle sucks.. and somehow the AI too...
-
Its same sh** a different track, over and over..
I think they should concentrate more on the storyline or come up with something different for their next game. Better graphics, more cars and more tracks just don't cut it anymore.
-
I started out with the Camaro
Its a little hard to steer to start out with but you can fix that with 1 suspension upgrade (Same goes for any muscle car that reacts like that). I'm currently driving a Dodge Challenger and the Shelby GT500.
What can I say, Muscle Cars ROCK! -
If you want a new experience in story mode, try the challenges. They give you the rest of the car parts and vinyl and new cars which you can use in story mode like the mazda and the Jaguar. These cars is lv1 car but after upgrade they can beat lv2 cars.
From the begining of story mode, just finish all the races for they are easy. The later in the game, you need to finish 1st some race which give you new lv3 cars for lv2 cars is little hard to win at this time.
I start with both Mazda 8 and Alfa Brera and end up with Mercedes and Carrera GT. Will try muscle car when I feel like playing the game again.
And, this game is worse than Most Wanted, too dark, the dark mean shadow and it mean hardware demanding and it hard to see and it dont look that good. Most Wanted is way better than this.
Shame on you EA -
So, when should I expect to go up against a boss? How much terrtitory do I have to gain?
-
The boss battle is 2 stage, 1st u follow, 2nd he ll follow u. The points on top represents how good u ve been following him and hopefully he does it worser than u and u ll win. U can oso win by overtaking him more than 10sec or he fall off the cliff(it happened once). U ll have no bullet time act when battling bosses, and u ll need to use handbrakes more than usual, and don't fall off the cliffs! Drive the perfect line! When u have no NOS, the boss wont have nos either, it is a near equal challenge, try to get cars tat is the better stock or get the best of the max tuned. To make life easier, get exotics as they are more balance of power and handling.
-
To battle a boss, you need to gain ALL their turfs
As lunateck said about how boss battle work, to make it easier, you can try a tuner as tuner is easier to brake and handle then other car.
Also, when you follow, dont hit the car or you lose point. And when he follow you, if he going to pass you, try to get ahead and stop him, made him hit you and the boss lose point.
As for me, I never see the boss fall the cliff. I did overtaking them sometimes ^o^ -
right now I'm driving an RX8, what tuner car should I get next? I've already unlocked the eclipse GT but decided not to get it because, it's FWD.
-
The boss car (Aston Martin) from the exotic area is one of the finest 2nd class car... try to win it..
-
A legit way to make money faster is to keep Nevelle with you. Once you unlock Samson, take him with you instead of Nevelle, but keep Nevelle in your crew back in the hideout so you can still get his $200 bonus in addition to Samson's 10% bonus for racing with you.
-
I didn't get anyone named Samson yet, just someone named Sal that helps me find shortcuts in the races.

Haven't played Carbon in awhile, never got the hang of drifting, and I really despise those forced drifting courses where you have to beat invisible opponents drift times. Oh well.
-
the key to drifting is holding the gas an feathering the steering. For me it works everytime. Unless I hold down the steering for a second too long, then the tires bite and I hit a wall, loosing all my point multipliers.
-
For tougher challenges, try the online gaming mode. Mines don't work for some odd reasons. -

I never cared for Need For Speed, especially these ones that are made to just cater to the stupid kids and their desire to have a "cool" car. I'll take my Gran Turismo and Forza instead please.
-
Yeah but I can't remember finding either of those for PC. Besides, I don't play it solely for the cars, I play it because I like to race. I've played every NFS from NFS II to NFS C.

I'd settle for a playstation and Grand turismo.

SO, Who here drives what? Tuner,Muscle,Exotic?
What are your crew names? -
I drive mostly muscles. I have a couple of exotics though. My full car list is:
Chevy Camaro SS
Dodge Charger RT
Ford Mustang GT
Chevy Corvette Z06
Dodge Challenger Concept
Mustang Shelby GT500 (Classic one)
Plymouth Barracuda (Plymouth Hemi Cuda)
Alfa Romeo Brera
Aston Martin DB9
Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren
I've named my crew Phoenix. Seemed appropriate. -
nice. Which drives better, the ZO6 or the Mustang GT.
-
The 'vette drives a LOT better than the Mustang.
-
Thats what i figured.
anyways, to the rest of yous, keep the replies coming. -
Is that it? everyones done talking about NFS C?
-
I just got done trying out another car. The Vauxhall Monaro VXR. That thing is awesome for a Tier 2 muscle car. It has all the acceleration of normal muscles but combines it with maxed out steering abilities, pretty much making it a Tuner.
-
nice.
BTW, I finally figured out where your avatar is from
I actually watched that movie last night. -
Well,I guess that's it for this thread. you tips and opinions have been most helpful, and I thank you for that.
Here's to hours well spent on gaming
